Triton Towing

My car was towed at the apartment complex I reside in. When I contacted them in regards to this they proceeded to tell me they were not responsible for bringing my car back. They are requesting I pay the fee. I’ve contacted my apartment complex in hopes this can be remedied. It was a terrible experience.

I went to visit a friend who lives at the Colonial Grand Ashton Oaks. They are located at ***. I arrived on 11/18 at 4:00 PM and parked my car and was in for the night. In the morning on 11/19 I woke up and took my car and went to explore Austin while my friend was working. I went back the the apartment around 3:00 PM and parked the car. We went out that night and got back around 10:00 PM and my car was there. I woke up to go back to Dallas around 8:00 AM the next morning and my car was gone. I first thought it was stolen and then thought it might have been towed. I looked all around where the car was parked (Building 15) and there wasn't a no parking sign anywhere within sight. I walked around the apartment and saw a small towing sign under the reserved parking so I called it. The name of the company was Triton towing and he stated he had my car. I asked why he towed it and he stated that it didn't have a sticker and it wasn't registered to be parked there. I let him know there was nothing around where I parked that stated that. He didn't care, I know he's a thief. I did find two official tow away parking signs. One is at the entrance and one is at the exit. Like people are going to read that when they are driving in and out of the complex. Walking around the complex I did notice some what looked like homemade tow away signs but nothing large where they stand out to someone.I took and Uber to get my car and told him what happened. He said he used to live there and they didn't have that when he lived there. He also stated that he lived in another complex owed by the same company that owns the apartments I was in. That's shady wouldn't a company have the same policies for all it's properties? Anyway I think someone in charge at the apartments has something going on with Triton Towing. I ended up having to pay $193 to get my car which was illegally towed and held for 8 hours 4 miles away. The way I see it he stole my car and then extorted $193 out of my to get my car back. I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears. These people deserve to be punished.

My car was towed last night at 10:30pm last night in which I woke up to no car outside. I called the police and they told me Triton Towing had my car so I called Triton at 1:30am and asked where can I pick my car up at and how much would it be which I was quoted $193.38

When I got to the location to get my car around 2:45pm I was told the cost was $230 because it was on their lot for 2 days which is impossible because it hadn’t even been 24 hours since they got my car! Now the coworker is denying he told me the price which was $193.38 and I have the message telling my mom at 1:30am that’s what I was told.

I want a refund of the additional money I paid to get my car and this business shut down for undercover pricing
