Review: We contracted with David Liberi who owns Trinity Flooring to install click and lock bamboo flooring throughout the main floor of our house and the upstairs hallway. In addition carpeting was installed in our upstairs bedrooms. We paid 50% down. We were under the impression, the job was done and the remaining 50% was paid. We then discovered there were areas where the flooring was not snapped together leaving a gap between the floor boards. The cutouts for the floor vents were too large so there is a gap between the vents and the flooring. A wooden floor vent was to be installed and has not. The kitchen cabinet baseboards were damaged when removing the kitchen flooring and we were told David Liberi would be responsible for the repairs that came to $580. There are areas where there is a gap between the quarter round and the flooring. The turn off valve for our gas fireplace was covered up and under the floor. There are areas where the trim cutting was uneven and covered up with an orange caulk. The toilet flange in the bathroom was below the flooring. David used 2 wax seals rather than a fitting that would work with a below floor flange and as a result the toilet seal failed and sewage leaked onto the ceiling below. What has been most frustrating is the fact that David Liberi will not answer or respond to my calls to resolve these issues. Initially we were advised he was on a job out of town and there would be a delay in getting back to us. Now there is no response whatsoever. He was to replace stair treads and risers and Newel posts but given the job done on our floors, I question whether he would do a godd job on the stairs as well.Desired Settlement: Fix the problems. Fix the gaps in the flooring. Install the floor vent by the door. Fix the vent cut outs. Fix the gaps between the quarter round and the flooring. Locate the gas fireplace cut-off and mount on the floor as it was previously. Fix the uneven trim cut outs. Come to a resolution regarding the kitchen cabinet repairs.

Response:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To reiterate, we had contracted with David Liberi who owns Trinity Flooring to put down click and lock bamboo flooring on our main floor and upstairs hallway, and carpeting in the upstairs bedrooms. We paid 50% down and my wife paid the remaining 50% thinking the job was done in February of 2014. We then realized there were a variety of problems. We had initially intended to have Dave Liberi redo our stairs as well, but when we began having problems getting him to respond to phone calls and texts-as far as I know, he does not have an email, we did not feel comfortable with him doing that additional work. Between February and June, we had increasing difficulty with contacting Dave Liberi. It was only after her received a letter from you that he responded by giving us the name of another flooring person to do the repairs/ fix the problems he had created. Dave Liberi ultimately sent me a check for the kitchen cabinet repairs required after her removed the kitchen floor. And I contacted the flooring person recommended and on 7/12/14 he came out and did the repairs. Unfortunately he had to put T-molding in a couple of spots to cover areas where the flooring had separated. It was not what we wanted-we wanted a smooth floor throughout the main floor without the T-molding that sits above the smooth floor. However, it would have meant tearing out the whole job and starting over which we didn’t want either. Dave Liberi supplied the materials and paid the flooring person to do the repairs. And after requested, Dave Liberi finally returned our house key. We had utilized Dave Liberi because he had been recommended by a personal friend. We are relieved to be done with the project. Like I said, the repairs are done, but we have had to settle for the T-molding which we are not happy with, but seemed the better alternative to pulling up the whole floor again. I appreciate that we finally got a response from Dave Liberi and got the repairs done. We were not happy with the fact that it took the Revdex.com to get a response from him and that the job was not altogether done to our satisfaction. One lesson learned is to not pay someone completely until the work is done. I would want others to know my experience with this business so they can go into things knowing what they are getting into. Thanks. Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks for your help. [redacted] ###-###-####. Home email [redacted]
