Automotive Repair Shop Statement:
This statement serves as a response to the complaint of *** against Trinity Brothers Automotive. On June 11, 2018 Ms. brought her 2010 Toyota Camry 2.51 to our shop, and requested to have a lube, oil, and filter service for her vehicle. Her vehicle had 118606 miles at the time of her service. As part of our lube, 011, end filter service. her vehicle received e new oil filter and 5 quarts of blend 011 that meets or exceeds manufacturer recommendations. All fluids were topped off, all running lights are checked, and air filter inspection. After inspection it was recommended to replace her air filter, which she agreed, and that service was performed. She was charged for an oil filter, oil, and a new air filter for $52.03.
There was no further communication from Ms. regarding her vehicle. It was not until July 19, 2018 that we received and email from Ms. requesting assistance or she would be taking legal action regarding damages to her vehicle, She stated in her email that. "we did not advise her of the timing chain off during our servicing." As stated before, Ms, *** only requested, received, and paid for an oil change on June 11, 2011 with 118606 miles on her odometer at the time of service at Trinity Brothers. Timing chains are not visible when doing an oil change, as they are located inside of the motor; service to timing are a costly and timely service repair. if Ms. timing chain were off, her vehicle would have been inoperable and unable to be driven from our repair shop, and most definitely not all the way to Charlotte, NC, I spoke with Ms. on July 19, and during our conversation she shared that her oil tight came on, she checked the oil level, and stated that it was low, therefore she added oil, She made a point to state that she is well aware of how to check her own oil, as she "keeps' oil In her trunk. This further lets me know of her own awareness of her vehicle excessively leaking oil.
She provided documentation that her vehicle later received a lube, 011, and filter service on July 5, 2018 by *** in Charlotte, NC. The Invoice states that she received not only a lube, oil, and fitter service, but an oil fitter cap as well. The replacement of an oil cap during an on change is not a normal procedure. By my expertise, this would Indicate that there was an on leak, which could have been damage by a rock or debris hitting the oil fitter cap. Ms., stated that the teeth on on cap were damaged; which further lets me know that the vehicle may have had an oil leak. The mileage on the vehicle at the time of that oil change was 120049 miles per the service invoice, Between the time of her oil change from Trinity Brothers and ***, Ms. drove over 1443 miles.
Ms, *** also provided an Invoice from an additional repair shop, Honest-I Auto Care dated July 19,2018 with no mileage reported. The invoice stating that only an inspection was completed, however Ms. was not charge for this inspection. The inspection clearly states that It is necessary to remove the timing cover to definitively determine If the timing is "off; which was not dine. Their assessment was that the vehicle only "seems" to be out of time. Yet, after the 2 oil changes and the 3 servicing
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have checked with the NHTS and also Toyota in which they stated my vehicle has nothing to do with this recall or oil consumption claim. Also Mr. Don S has repeatedly harassed me via text messages and phone when I spoke with him all times after I advised to not text or call me and that we would go through some type legal to get this resolved. Also I was not aware of my oil leaking and told his company Trinity Brothers to check everything before I left. I also have the original copy of the invoice in which they gave me the signed receipt in which I never signed.
