Been in Arizona for just over a year (second time moving here, work related) and during the last move I found anything health related to be a money grab for anything from dental to specialists.
So this time here I was dreading having anything do that was health related. I had an episode with diverticulitis in January that put me in the ER/hospital for 3 days...THREE DAYS! The bill from [redacted] was $20,000!!!! Fighting that bill. I knew I needed surgery at some point so I figured the sooner the better. I did much research, asked my customers who were in the medical field and then my primary. All suggestions lead to Tri-City Colorectal Surgery.
This is my first time in the hospital and now having to under the knife, I Want the best. I met with Dr [redacted] (the [redacted]) for the initial consult. This was the nicest, most laid back Dr I have ever met. Answered all my questions, reassured me that everything will be ok and we scheduled the colonoscopy a few weeks later that he performed where he suggested surgery (which was elective). I scheduled it for a month later with Dr [redacted] as he does laparoscopic vs a single opening. Did my research on Dr [redacted] as well and after speaking with him I had no worries as he explained everything that would be done.
The day of the surgery everything was explained again. It moved very smoothly at [redacted] (surgical staff was upbeat and fun to talk with) and I was in recovery before I knew it. Can't say enough about the nurses on the 3rd floor. Anyway, Tri-City Colorectal Surgery was nothing short of perfect for me. Office staff was effecient and friendly. It's a busy place and many people coming and going but the staff was always friendly.
Amazing though, I was in the hospital for 5 days from surgery to leaving and my bill was less than half of the stay at [redacted]! Disputing that bill. But happy with my surgery!
