Review: I contracted with this company to remove some tree stumps in my yard. Omar Upshaw, owner came out and looked at the job and quoted a price of $125.00 for the work. He started the job on 3/4/16 and stated he would be back either that evening or the next day to complete the work (clean up). I paid him the full price of the job via check, which he has already cashed. He ever came back even though I have contacted him numerous times via text and he replied via text message that he would come back to finish. My husband finally started to clean up the mess he left today (3/21/16) and discovered that there was still stump and roots left under the ground. All of this was supposed to be removed. I don't have a written contract with Mr. Upshaw, only a verbal one. He now has become almost threatening to me by saying that, "I can ask anyone, I got a good price for the job, etc." I am concerned that since he is now upset with me for asking for completion of this job, the situation might become confrontational. I feel he did not come back to finish this job as promised, because he knows he did not do what he was paid for by leaving stump and roots under the ground. I believe this was also why he did not want to come back to clean up. I have supporting documentation of this conflict in the form of text messages and pictures of the mess that was left. I know I should not have paid him for the entire cost of the job before it was completed, but I trusted his word that he would do as promised.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund via certified check for half of the cost of the job ($62.50) or at minimum $50.00 since there is still stumps/roots left underground and he did not come back to clean up as stated in his various text messages to me. As I stated above, I no longer feel comfortable with him coming back to my home.
