My business, ***, hired Treasure Valley Exteriors to complete three jobs at our business. Two out of the three jobs that we hired them for were either done negligently or were not completed at all. The first job we hired them to do was to "remove tile from low slope porch in back- tear up 4 ft beyond transition to seal best possible way- recover with TPO- reflash chimney bases." What they actually did on October 18th, 2019 was remove the tile from the low slope porch in back and recovered the area with TPO, but they failed to tear up 4 ft beyond transition and also failed to reflash the two chimney bases. When we discussed this with the company they first lied and said that they had reflashed the chimneys and then a couple days later admitted that they had not reflashed them, but didn't think they needed to be reflashed after all. We agreed on November 3rd, 2019 that we would not pay the full amount of $2,500 because of the incomplete job and they would keep our down payment of $1250. On November 9th, 2019 we noticed leaking on our ceiling from the area that they repaired and contacted them about refunding the $1250 for failing to fix the problem. The second job we hired them to do was on November 5th, 2019 when they installed our front door. When we discussed the job, we indicated multiple times that the door needed to be ADA compliant and we needed to have less than 0.5 inches rise above the floor. After he installed the door, we noticed that there was approximately 1.5 inch rise above the floor. A separate company that we hired informed us that the metal plate used at the bottom of the doorway is not used for wheelchairs and if we want our doorway to be ADA compliant, we would need to install a new metal plate at the bottom. They also stated that the metal plate that had been installed was flimsy. We have hired a separate company to install the correct metal plate and fix additional errors.
Mr. and I spoke regarding his expectations with the roofing. He was asking us to re apply his old roofing materials (concrete tiles) over the new material we installed (TPO membrane) below you will find him acknowledging that this is NOT IDEAL.. We were not willing to do this as it would void the warranty of the work we did with the manufacturer of the materials, further, we were not contracted to provide this work. The missed flashing around the chimney was a small oversight...our fault. We would have swiftly addressed this with a quick visit and repair. When I discussed the line items of concern with Mr. he made this suggestion :
Options Moving Forward
1. Do no additional work. Keep the 1250 USD (which is about 500$ above the going rate for installing 88 sqft of TPO). I will hire another roofing company and get the job done right.
2. Have your workers return. Have them give *** and *** (attached as well: phone numbers *** and *** respectively) a call when they are heading to the property. Reflash the 2 chimneys per the work order. Re-lay the tiles on top of the TPO. I would recommend using plastic for the strips instead of wood to lay the tile on and fix strips and tile in place with silicone. Do no use nails, obviously, as we want the TPO membrane to stay intact. But honestly, you guys are suppose to be the professionals and should be telling me the safest way to lay the ceramic over TPO. I have done a lot of research on this. It is not Ideal but also not unheard of.
With regard to the roof.
Mr. was asking us to reinstall cement tiles over our new TPO membrane roof repair. This was not part of the contract, and we would never agree to this anyway-- no professional roofer would. Further, we initially advised Mr. that the entire roof needed replacement and that any small repair could NOT be guaranteed. At that point we agreed to his suggestion of a monetary settlement of $1250. This is in line with Idaho law regarding a dispute with contractors. This issue was closed at that point.
With regard to the front door--
the instructions on our signed (by one of the building owners) work order states " build frame for customer's door and install in entry". This is exactly what we did. There is not mention of intent on usage. we interviewed both our salesperson and our craft foreman. they both stated that "no mention of ADA compliance occurred". We met the contract's agreement by hand- building a custom jamb assembly, utilized the customer's door (at their request to save money instead of buying a door to fit) and installing it in the opening pointed to by the owners.
This customer has not been telling the truth and this makes the process difficult. they have also violated Idaho law by not allowing us to follow the NORA act, by "hiring contractors to do the work right" before we have even had a chance to inspect, which is our right under law. In doing so, they are ensuring that their future court case will be dismissed without prejudice. It's unfortunate, but they have painted themselves into a corner. PLEASE SEE ATACHED IMAGES
Our company has performed over $20Million worth of home improvements in the valley and we stand behind all of our work.
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
One week after I offered Treasure Valley Exteriors the opportunity to fix their work or walk away from the project, the roof began to leak. It leaked both underneath the TPO membrane as well as underneath the chimney. I had been calling treasure valley exteriors for weeks at that point. They refused to return and reflash the chimneys or complete the work as outline in the work order/talked about in person. Only after the email cited above, outlining my issues, did I even get a response from them. We hired another company to repair the leaking roof. We had been waiting on TVE for 8 weeks at that point and leaking roofs cannot wait. The new contractor found numerous holes and sources of water leakage. These problems were obvious to the other professional roofing company. They fixed them and the roof is no longer leaking. I have pictures of all of this. TVE neglected to even inspect the roof, much less repair it.. The roof immediately leaked following the work they did. It has not leaked at all after being repaired by another contractor. The work was not what we discussed and it failed immediately.
I discussed the door both with TVE's salesperson and the 3rd party contractor TVE hired to install the door in person upon them receiving the door. The building is to be used as a medical clinic. My only requests were to make the door ADA compliant (I am not sure why you would ever do commercial work and not follow ADA compliance) and keep the door 36x80 inches tall. The door has been cut down 1.5 inches on each dimension. We have had to repair this door to meet ADA compliance.
TVE has lied to me countless times throughout these projects regarding project details, scheduling, etc. They have refused to let us contact their roofing contractors directly. I had to start communicating with them only via email because they just kept lying to me when I spoke with them in person or on the phone. I called multiple times in one week and spoke to three different people employed there about our issues. Every time they responded saying "I'll have someone call you back later today." I had to continue to call them for 2 weeks following because I never received a call back from anyone at the company. We gave them multiple attempts to fix their mistakes, but we received no contact from them besides emails. Their salesman even told me that they did in fact "reflash the chimneys". I inspected them personally only to find that no work was done. I confronted TVE and the salesman about this. He then changed his response to something like, "we looked at the chimneys but didn't fix them as they was not leaking". The roof leaked through the chimney one week later when it rained.
I have pictures and emails to prove all of this, and have attached just a few. I have not lied to TVE one time. Dealing with them has been a nightmare.
Sincerely
T.V.E. came out and put a roof on my moms house, after canceling twice then stated this will only take 2 days and in all it took 4 days. He had help that didn't speak English so I could not communicate with anyone. They left their dump truck in front of my garage that leaked diesel fuel all over my driveway and in the road and has refused to clean up their mess and I was holding a payment until the job was done. Well after a few days treasure valley called my realtor and told them lie after lie that I owed them 1500.00 for a roof replacement which is a lie. Then after I paid for all the materials the workers took it on them self to change the materials I paid for and put something else on my flat roof and walked away with my materials that I paid for. They also ordered the wrong materials that I was stuck with. I figured the cost of what was taken and I came up with about 700.00 and I want these back or I want them to take the cost off of my deductible of a thousand dollars that I am in contract with them and I have paid my payment on time. I was threatened buy he owner, and the company did not finish the job after asking them three times. This company has not held up to their part of the contract which in the contract that they will clean up every piece of roofing material, all nails and shingles. right before the roof was on I had stepped on a nail in the middle of my yard that came from the roof. So as of now, the job is still not complete from this company. And to make things worse the owner called my realtor and told them he was going to put a mechanics lien on my house. well now he has cost me 3000.00 because the realtor can not sell a house with a lien on it. This company lies, said they would be on the job at 730am and they didn't show till 10am. they were asking me to buy them beer, well I don't even drink why should I buy them beer. I personally think he has people working for him that are not legal immigrants they could not understand or speak English.
Dear readers,
Please forgive the lengthy response.
The homeowners here are misinformed. We DID NOT file a mechanics lien on the property as they have stated. They could make a quick call or search with Canyon County recorders office to verify such. The homeowners received a insurance settlement for re roofing of the home. They could not afford to pay the deductible at the time of completion. We offered them a grace period to make four installment payments for the $1106 balance they did not have. They agreed that they would make four payments to us. When approximately 1 month passed we called to ask for the first payment. Our office staff was greeted with strong language and threatening statements (see attached text message from the disgruntled home owner).
What really happened was, we learned that the property had been placed for sale on the market. We had not been given an answer on payment and were treated very rude when we asked. For that reason we contacted the listing agent to see if they could reach the mutual client and encourage them to fulfill the payment arrangement they had agreed to. In the call we did mention to the agent that we were prepared to file a lien to protect our interest. This is the only option we have. We have NOT filed the lien yet, since as of November 4th 2019 we received 1 of the 4 installment payments they promised us. I guess calling the agent rather than immediately filing a lien worked.
The owner stated we took materials back when we were done with the job. This is accurate. We ALWAYS send extra materials to a project to have a small allowance of waste factor accounted for. These are OUR materials NOT the homeowners. They were charged no more or less than the bid outlined for the complete replacement of the roof and the materials used.

Well, we had already concluded with clean up on this job....the customer is grasping at straws. However, we would be happy to provide a final walk around and clean up anything we may have been a part of. We would like to conclude with a final payment immediately!TVE

*** what I do know he will not get a dime until he cleans up the mess that his dump trucked all over my drive way and road. And my house is not 4 sale plus he new that we were selling befor the job started .he has caused my house not to sell. He knew exactly what trouble he would cause befor payment was due and at this time we are seeking an attorney for a law suit. But at this time he needs to clean up his mess. It's too funny I read the company reviews and I'm not the only person he has tried this with. I'm not giving in to someone like him he said he didn't care about my lousy 1000. As he has millions. I should have kicked him off my property when he didn't show up on time.

In reply to the bad business they have not completed the job as in contract the company is to clean up after their mess and part of that is their dump truck leaking all over my drivway and the road and has said they would clean it up. The company will not receive a penny until its cleaned up and left the way they found it. PERIOD.

I hired Treasure Valley Exteriors to paint my house. They quoted me $10,000 and told me it would look "awesome". Their brochure says, "Our craftsmen take the time to properly prepare your painted surfaces by removing loose paint, priming bare material and caulk/sealing where appropriate." They did some scraping but not to the extent I would expect professionals would. They did NOT prime. They did caulk some areas but again, certainly not up to professional standards. Because the prep was not done very well, the paint didn't look good. They tried to blame my raw wood. They also tried to bribe me by saying they would put siding on one small area that they didn't do a good job on if I would give them a good review. At first I was excited at the thought of getting some siding put on, but then over the next couple days I noticed all of the flaws. They missed several areas. The previous paint color shows through. Some areas are peeling. They painted my garage windows and dryer vent shut. They sent me an invoice & the email said I could avoid late fee's if I pay the invoice in 1 day. I didn't want late fee's so I paid it. They told me told hold back $500 until the siding was finished. After thinking about the terrible job, I told them I didn't want the siding. I didn't want to lie & give a good review where one was not warranted. I asked them to come back & fix the problems. They didn't put any effort in when they came back. In fact the foreman that came back told me they don't caulk holes when I showed him areas I was unhappy with. The job was not completed to my satisfaction. It was not "awesome" as promised. Now they won't return calls or texts. I'd like my money back so I can have a professional come in & do it right. My neighbors had their second property painted, same size for less than 1/2 that amount & the company they used did a great job. My neighbors pointed out all of the flaws & what an awful job Treasure Valley Exteriors did.
We are working on a resolution with the client.
HOWEVER, She has made several false statements regarding our work. Statements that result in LIBEL , see law below.
law; a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation.
She said we didn't prime? FALSE, see images. This is a damaging FALSE statement resulting in lost revenue, posted on several public forums. The image attached shows the primer. slam dunk , case closed in a court of law. Libel is a easy line to cross, as proven here.Said we tried to bribe her?....really? We offered her new siding with painting in an area that she said was not meeting her expectations. A gesture of good faith becomes bribery? WOW.
However, we do acknowledge areas that could use some touch up.......we have acknowledged these areas with the consumer and want to fix them under the NORA act

I could copy and paste the first 1/3 of the review made by Cami J. below and that would basically sum up our experience as well. We have made several updates to our home so far this summer, utilizing several contractors for the various types of work, and TVE was the company we chose for our siding repair. Five different people came out to look before they even ORDERED the materials, and that was over the course of 3 months and after we had paid an initial $500 for materials. Multiple phone calls, emails and texts went unanswered and at one point we were told that the first estimate should have been three times more.
Here is the response from the owner when we got our final bill which was higher than expected:
"Almost NO ONE even wants to perform these small jobs— but we do, in order to find a potentially happy customer we could serve later for Whole House Roofing, Siding or Windows. Those jobs keep us in business so that we could do this tiny job for you."
I can't imagine the problems we would have if they were to do a "big" job for us. We are glad to be through with them and would not hire them again.
We found everyone very helpful and knowledgeable. We needed a new roof on our sunroom and better windows also. Max came out and gave his honest assessment of the roof and the old windows and what was needed to keep heat in and the room comfortable.
The work was done promptly, and we were kept updated all along the way. The area was kept clean and all old material was taken away.
We now have a new roof that doesn't leak and new triple pane windows.
I would highly recommend them and would use them again.
Thank you!
Hired Treasure Valley to replace roof, repair siding, replace gutters, vent covers, and repair damaged windows, all from hail. Signed on May 4th. Mr Shane *** was the reprentative who came to our home seeking work. We did no solicit him. For weeks he promised to come repair siding. The roof was done more than a month ago. After failing to come out each week, he now said he has no crews, but can fix the gutters. Again this went on for weeks. He even said he’d come out. He then said he hired a crew and they no showed. He then said go check, I gave you a great price, you won’t find anyone who can do gutters at what I quoted you. Yeah, it is now August. You quoted in May. I texted him that we only wanted dates or we have to,go Revdex.com and small claims. His text and I quote, is “how about you go *** yourself”. Later in another text he says, I’ll let your insurance company know they got invoiced for something less than what they paid for that’s fraudulent good, luck”. What is this? He is the one then who billed for work he never did. His company is,fraudulent. In another text, “Maybe we should meet some place face to face and come to an agreement.” What kind of company says these crazy things? And we paid $425 for an extended warranty for the roof and have received nothing. No warranty.
We are in talks with Mr.. Developing a plan to finalize the work.TVE
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. It is a good step toward resolution. They hope to have dates to me by Thursday noon. Based on previous promises no idea if this will occur or not. I don’t consider this closed yet until all work is complete. We signed a contract back on May 4th.
Sincerely
They completed less than half of the contracted work. But they insist on full payment.
Out of all the Millions of dollars in business we do in a year, this is the only customer who owes us money. In fact his project was completed almost a year ago and only now after we have requested payment for the last time before moving to more dramatic collection methods does he have an issue with the work that was done.
They took a look at the job, gave me several options, we came to a final option, and followed through exactly as we planned it. I was very happy with the work.
