12/28/19 Purchase of 2005 *** $3900.00 by *** (***-wife)
12/28/19 Arrived home after car wash to find fluids leaking from the vehicle on the driveway.
Checked the power steering fluid and engine oil, both were empty (full when checked at time of purchase)
12/30/19 Phone call to Trackside who referred us to vehicle warranty from purchase (said his mechanic doesn't do that kind of work)
12/31/19 Appt with ***, Danville PA. Vehicle put on lift and it was discovered the vehicle was not road legal despite the 12/20 inspection sticker. Also was noted engine oil leakage and transmission leakage, steering fluid lines are rotted. *** called in another state inspector who confirmed the issues. The State Inspection Officer was contacted. *** was asked to bring the vehicle back to *** on Monday 1/6/20.
1/6/20 Vehicle was returned to ***, State Inspection Officer "Bernie" inspected the vehicle and the inspection sticker was removed from the vehicle.
*** drove the vehicle to Trackside and asked for money back. Trackside wants inspection report.
Trackside sale*** said he needed to speak to owner, however he was in an accident and didn't have immediate access to him.
*** drove back to ***. State Inspection Officer Bernie was called who in turn called Trackside.
*** called Trackside who confirmed the state inspection officer did call him and he needs to contact the owner.
*** drove the vehicle to home.
1/7/20 Call to Trackside. sale*** said no one has provided the inspection report. Says he will put vehicle on the lift to see what the issues are.
1/7/20 *** has conversation with Mark Z (Bernie's boss). Mark advises paperwork cannot be provided until investigation is complete. Mark confirmed he was in the office when Bernie called Trackside.
The vehicle was inspected at Sugarloaf Luzerne County, business had previous 6 mos suspension. This time will be 2-year suspension.
1/8/20 *** received call from Mark. Mark confirmed he had a face to face visit with Trackside sale***. Mark updated sale*** with the issues found, photos were provided. Advised inspection report will be available when investigation complete.
1/9/20 *** made call to Trackside-sale*** said he will be seeing the owner that afternoon. *** provided contact number for him to return the call. (no return call received)
1/10/20 *** made call to Trackside-sale*** said he expects the owner in 20 minutes, confirmed he had cell phone number for ***. (no return call received)
1/11/20 *** made call to Trackside-sale*** says they will make the repairs and to bring vehicle to Trackside on Friday 1/17/20. *** reminded sale*** vehicle has no inspection sticker and not legal for the road. Sale*** says their rollback is broke down.
1/14/20 *** was able to get transportation to get the vehicle back to Trackside cost will be $100.00.
1/14/20 Submitted Consumer Complaint to Attorney General’s Office
1/15/20 Call to Trackside to inform we found transportation for the vehicle and it will be dropped off Friday (1/17/20) in the morning.
1/17/20 Vehicle transported to Trackside with the assistance of ***/rollback @ a cost of $100.00. When arriving at the location the vehicle was removed from the rollback, but the driver was unable to move it any further. The vehicle would not move, and the engine was smoking.
