Took my deposit but never did the work. Came to the house to do the job and said I was missing parts. We rescheduled after the missing parts came in and he sent me a text to let me know he could not make it. Never heard from him again. It has been a couple of weeks and he has not returned any of my phone calls and has not responded to any of my texts.
Brian ***, owner of Tough Nickels Specialty Constructors has not refunded our deposit for work not finished/done. Gave us a worthless check.
Brian ***s, owner of Tough Nickel Specialty Constructors, contracted with my husband and I to install an outdoor kitchen and fireplace at our home in May of 2019. He indicated that the work on the kitchen would be completed by the end of June and the fireplace would be finished by July 4th. We paid a 50% deposit in the amount of 3200 ($500 for the kitchen and $2700 for the fireplace) to Brian to start the work. For various reasons, Brian extended his completion date several times. On July 24th, Brian stated that he would complete the job on the kitchen the next day (the fireplace was never started). Brian left for lunch and did not return. After several calls, emails, text and a call to ***, the company who referred he to us, he finally contacted us on August 8th. Brian agreed to give us a refund of the deposit for the fireplace, and keep the deposit for the outdoor kitchen as payment for work done to date. Brian picked up his tools and gave us a check for $2700, but, has written out wrong as it said twenty-seven dollars in the written portion of the check. I notified Brian and returned the next day with another check. After depositing the check in my account it was not honored and returned as "Refer to Maker" and could not be redeposited. I notified Brian that the check was again not honored. Both my husband and I contacted Brian and indicated that we wanted cash payment for the refund. He agreed to bring us cash to settle this issue, however, we have not seen or heard from Brian since. We notified Brian on September 3, 2019, that we would be sending the check to the Florida State Attorney's Office and wanted to resolve the matter before we did so; however, we have still gotten no response.
We would like Brian *** to refund the $2700 owed to us. As we will not accept a check from this company, the payment should be made in the form of cash or a cashier's check.
Took our money but didn't do the job. Now won't return our calls, emails or texts.
I have emailed this client, and explained the situation, I have been out of town due to hurricane trying to help restore power and help tied what I can in the Bahamas - they are well aware of this and I told them I would install when I return this week. This is the third job I have done for them, and have always done everything professionally and quickly. I have come out on issues that have no relation to my other jobs with them. I have always been responsive this situation is different due to the hurricane. I will gladly return their money if they so desire
We have repeatedly asked for our money back, but Brian has yet to send our funds back. We do not want him to do any additional work, we just want our money back.
I have done everything they asked please above and beyond, I was helping hurricane victims repair and rebuild. Their project was pushed and it was communicated to them as such, I'm sorry that things happen. Their money has been refunded as requested by them yesterday
Brian S owner of Tough Nickel was paid to demolish old tile floor and lay new porcelain flooring throughout our home. The tiles are not level with each other, tiles are chipped/cracked, he used two different color grouting, left a haze on the tile (which will not come off, even with an acid wash), and put tile down that doesn't match. I have known Brian for over 15 years and trusted that even though he was PAID IN FULL he would live up to his work and be professional enough to fix the floors. It has been over one year since we first hired Brian and we are still fighting to get our floors fixed. We have hired an attorney are currently in the process of suing Brian and his company. I hate to say anything bad about someone I consider a friend, but I would hate even more for this to happen to someone else.
I would not give this company a start but in order to leave a review I have to.
Brian K, owner of Tough Nickel Speciality Constructors has committed to perform multiple projects for us, took deposit ~6K and never showed up. He and his company Tough Nickel..is extremely unprofessional and is not returning the deposit we paid to them.
We have reached out to him and his company via our attorney and gave him 30 days grace period to return the deposit after which we take him to the court.
I strongly NOT recommend anyone to do any sort of business with Brian K. S or with his company.
