I agree with most of what the customer is saying with the following exceptions. The estimate was a verbal estimate with the...
stipulations that additional parts and labor could be required which he agreed to. After starting on his bike I found numerous issues and he kept asking for more changes some of which I agreed with to meet the initial quote. In all I spent over $965.00 in parts and did not charge him for the labor which I paid to my mechanics out of my pocket. In the 20 plus years I have been in business this is the first customer ever that I was not able to deal with and reach an equitable agreement. First it was change the wheel, the tire had to be replaced and the last straw was the speedometer cable which I had custom made by a company (Performance Machine) in California at a cost of $83.29 which was not part of the initial quote. I tried to talk, explain, reason, with the customer but after being called and harassed daily my patience was at an end. I lost my patience and told him that he didn't know me and I had been in business for over 20 years and had never had a customer like him. I had lost over $700.00 dollars spent countless hours dealing with him and was done. I have delivered his speedometer cable to him and consider the issue closed.
