Company sent bill that was beyond what they verbally quoted. Received additional bill, company refused to speak with husband to explain charges.
In June 2018, I contacted Anna at Total Comfort Propane to get a quote for installation of a tank for our spa. She quoted us $270 for setting/installation of the tank and the price of gas. We agreed to those fees and Anna set up an installation date.
During this original/first conversation, I asked Anna about a new spa heater that we purchased. I asked Anna, "do I need to have the heater installed prior to having the tank set." She put me on hold and came back to inform me, "no".
On the day of the installation, I was surprised to have Ken (Manager) arrive with no crew and no tank. He informed me that he was there to complete a site visit prior to installation. I informed him of the information that Anna explained over the phone. He stated, "Anna is new she knows nothing."
I took Ken to the backyard showed him the location of the old tank, the old heater, and because he made that comment ... I then pointed and showed him my new heater. Our back door was open, with the new spa heater in our garage. I asked him, "Do I need to have that installed prior to you setting the tank." He said, "No."
I did inform Ken that we were having a fence installed and felt it would be easier to get the tank set prior to the fence installation. He agreed. He made me feel that it would be best to set the tank and after I had the heater they would just drop by and connect the tank & heater. It was my understanding that everything would be complete at the installation of the tank and during their service routes someone would make the simple connection of the tank and new heater.
I later received a call from the company office (I believe I spoke with Debbie). to set-up installation.
During a reminder call of the installation appointment, I asked if we could reschedule. I was not going to be home the day of the installation. They said it was not necessary for me to be there during installation as long as they had access to the property they would complete their work.
My husband left the regulator for the spa in our backyard for them to use. Upon our arrival home, we saw the new tank had been set and a new regulator was installed. Nothing seemed unusual.
Our spa was installed in July & the electrician connected everything necessary. It was summer so we were not in any hurry to get the spa running. We called Total Comfort in August to have them make the final connect.
They again came when we were not home. After our return, we again did not see anything unusual.
We received a $220 bill with no explanation of charges. I will admit that we were traveling a lot over the summer and our original bill was paid late. We normally pay everything online so paper statements are rare. I first called the office and asked for explanation of charges. Theresa was very rude. I did not understand some of the terminology she was using so I asked for a site visit so my husband could review with someone.
The site visit was refused. So I had my husband who is more familiar with the equipment get on the phone with Theresa. She still could not explain the charges to him.
During this call, my husband informed Theresa, that he would like a site visit, he would visit the office, or take a call from Ken. Theresa informed my husband that Ken would call him.
2-3 weeks later Debbie called asking for payment. I returned the call and Debbie set up a time for 11/30 for my husband & Ken to speak. Theresa called me a couple hours later on 11/29 and said "you need to just pay the bill." Ken got on the phone and was very rude. Refused to speak with my husband 11/30. Then he told me the only time he would speak to my husband was 8am on Monday which was obviously not available because most people have jobs.
This company has no interest in explaining their bill. They have not kept their verbal agreement. It has been a bait & switch experience.
Reimburse funds paid for gas currently in tank, return our regulator that was removed without permission and remove tank from our property. Or when gas is used, we will notify by e-mail and company can come and remove tank at that time. We no longer are interested in working with this business due to unprofessional business practices.
Mrs.called Total Comfort in the beginning of June 2018 requesting a quote on replacing her customer own tank that was all rusty and no good. As she even stated in her complaint to you in the first couple of sentences. She asked how much the gas was and to install a tank to replace the one she has that is no good. Anna made up a lead sheet and had Ken (the gas mgr) go out and meet with the home owner. He told her it would be 270 dollars to replace the tank and hook up. We called and told them we could come out on June 22 and the said they would not be home but we could come out and do it. We did . They did not pay for it until October the 18th after many many statements were sent and several phone calls. In August they called and asked for us to connect her new pool heater we went out August 15 and hooked it up and charged her 220.00 to hook up and vent it. We have made several calls . Most of the time there is no answer and mailbox is full. I spoke with her Husband and explained to him the fees the parts that were used and he asked for Ken to call. Ken called and spoke to the Mrs and still no payment for hooking up the spa heater. Our service calls are 89.95. We try and come out one time to do a job. If she had known she had a new spa heater that she wanted hooked up we would of asked that it would of been installed before we came out the first time so we could of completed the job with one trip.
