Torrey
Pines Property Management has
taken all the necessary and proper steps to treat
the residence for pests. Service has been performed numerous times at the
request of the resident. All pest control services performed were under
the direction of a licensed pest control company using the latest treatments as
per industry standards. (Documentation available upon request) We have
and will continue to service the residence as often as needed. Our only requirement
is the resident follow the guidelines and recommendations provided in the
lease and by the pest control company. Lastly, we have offered the
resident the option of vacating the premises and voiding the lease agreement
without penalty, in hope of mitigating this situation

Review: I rented a unit from Torrey Pines Property Mgt in November 2014. I immediately noticed the presence of vermin. After speaking with neighbors and the contracted pest control company, my specific unit was one of the worst infestations the pest control company had seen and the neighbors had seen as well because the vermin spread to their units as well. I have had the unit sprayed a total of 4 times since November with no resolution. I spoke with [redacted] who is the Senior Property Manager of my building and received no cooperation or support what so ever. She gave me two options one of which was to do another maintenance request or move out by July 1, 2015 (in 13 days) in order to avoid penalties. Shocked by her response, I was trying to get her to understand my perspective and frustration as a tenant having to deal with the aftermath of a vermin infestation in my unit before me and she simply stated that she is not going to go back and forth with me and that I need to make a decision regarding her options presented. I had no other choice but to request another maintenance request. Because the matter was not handled professionally and legally given the circumstances of vermin being considered inhabitable and [redacted] not wanting to give me other reasonable options and demonstrating zero ethical conduct on her behalf as a Senior Property Manager, I had no choice but to file an official complaint with the SD County Health, Food and Housing division in which I was referred by them to file with the Revdex.com. I have fulfilled my responsibilities as a tenant to keep my unit vermin free and in return Torrey Pines needs to fulfill their responsibilities in ensuring a vermin free building which they have not since I moved in November 2014.Desired Settlement: I would like that Torrey Pines Management take the infestation of vermin seriously in their building located at [redacted] Ave [redacted] CA [redacted] and understand that spraying only my unit will not rectify the problem. Other tenants have vermin issues as well and therefore the whole building needs to be treated to ensure the elimination of vermin in all the units. I should not have to encounter a management company who does not want to resolve the issue and tell me to just move if I am unhappy. I have a right to finish out the term of my lease so long as I am abiding by the property's rules and regulations so telling me to move out without penalty is not what I am looking for. I am looking for full support and cooperation from Torrey Pines to resolve the vermin infestation in their building during my lease term and not just waiting for me to submit maintenance requests every time I see vermin in my unit and then treat it accordingly.
