Review: On September 5, 2015, I entered Tonys Bicycle Skateboard Shop, located at 1612 S Governors Ave Dover DE 19904. The reason was to purchase a bicycle seat for my bicycle, I picked out a wide seat at the price of $35.00 dollars. I later found that the seat would not work on my bike. Due to the Labor Day Holiday I attempted to return the bicycle seat for a refund, on September 8, 2015. After I explained what the problem was and why the seat would not fit my bike. I received a blank stare, and then I was informed by the Owner that I would not get a refund. They do not give refunds, that I would receive store credit, for that amount. To make further purchases in the store. I informed the owner that I was not in any need to purchase any parts at this time, I request a refund. Then another Gentlemen, came from the back of the shop, and entered in the conversation. He stated we do not give refunds it our policy. I stated at the time of purchase, I was not informed of this policy. I should have been told about the policy, he stated do see the signs posted. I said no I did not see any signs when I made the purchase and besides, its unfair to have a no return policy, without out informing your Customers of this policy. Had I known that I would not have made a purchase, in your store its against the law to do that to customers? The tall man then became loud and stated, what do you know about the law, at that time I told him I was a retired Federal Security officer, and know the law, and then showed him my retired credentials. He then stated, Oh your flashing a badge, trying to intimidate us, I said No Im telling both of you, I know the law that all. You cant refuse a Customer that made a purchase in good faith, and you did not explain your no return policy. He said call the Cops, youre not getting a refund. The Short oriental man, then explained that it cost money for credit card transactions, and that he would charge me five percent, for the transaction, and give me back Thirty dollars, $30.00 out of the Thirty five, $35.00. I paid for the bicycle seat. I agreed just to resolve any further arguments. I sign a receipt with my name and address and then departed the Store.Desired Settlement: If this Business, is going to have a no return policy, they then the Customer should be instructed of this policy, not by a sigh you can't see, such policy should be verbal, not after the fact, before the actual sales transaction is conducted, This is unfair to all customer and could cause serious problem with future returns.!! I was charger $35.00 and when I returned the product was charged $5.00 service charge, was not given a full refund. Not indicated on sales slip, of any hidden charges.
