Review: Signed contract to replace old gutters on my home. Proposal signed on 03/08/13. Work started 03/18/13. Noticed on proposal that name and address was his personal name and not business. I asked him why his business was not listed in either white or yellow pages in telephone directory. He said he'd been in yellow pages, paid $1,800.00 for ad and only got one job and couldn't afford to advertise. Asked person that recommended him if he had a business license and was told that he knew that at one time he did under the name Norcal Gutters. checked with the license board and no record of his business was found. While putting new gutter on house he said that the could use 50' of old gutter on my workshop which had no gutter. I said that would eb okay. He called four weeks later to put up gutter on work shop but said I really should have new gutter rather than using old gutter. It would cost me $800. and told him just come and pick up old gutter and get it out of my way. He came out to pick old gutter and had man that formed gutters come with his equipment to from new gutter. I told him that I said no. He said he misunderstood. Now I have to pay the other man for his trip out here and please let him put up new gutter. Told him I wasn't paying $800. for new gutters on workshop. He begged me and said he would do it for $400. I finally said okay. Have pictures of gutters on workshop and they are warped and of no use at all. Workmanship on house and workshop is terrible. Contract states three year warranty for leaks and workmanship. He will not and has not returned my calls.Desired Settlement: Refund my $400.00 for gutter placed on workshop that I had to have someone else remove. Since it hasn't rained enough to know if there are leaking problems or other problems, won't know till it rains.
