This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I booked this company to move my wife into my home just a few days after our wedding and honeymoon. The movers showed up almost 30 minutes late without notice. I asked for the start time on the bill to be adjusted, but they refused to adjust the bill. After the walk through with the movers, I signed the contract which detailed all the charges. After the move was already underway, they added a fee to my bill which they did not disclose during the walk through. I agreed to pay the additional fee because I was happy and excited to be combining households with my new wife. When it came time to unload everything at my house, the driver got out of the truck and presented me with a final bill which estimated the unloading time forward. Thinking I should only pay for the actual time worked, I called the office to ask about the process of estimating time forward. I was told if I did not pay the entire bill on the spot, the movers would drive away with all the items and keep them in storage until I paid in full. I was absolutely shocked and outraged that a business would hold a customer's belongings hostage. I paid their over inflated bill, but I have never forgotten about this business' ethics. In the future, I will be more careful to read customer reviews and ask for references before I hire a moving company.
This is perhaps the worst experience we have ever had with a business. It is a day I will never forget. On the day of our move, the movers showed up late and refused to adjust our bill for this. A fee was added to our bill which was not disclosed during the appointment booking or walk through, so we were taken by surprise by this. When the driver pulled up to our new house to unload, we were presented with a bill that estimated the unloading time forward. Mr.' son demanded full payment. We called the office to ask how unloading times were estimated and were told if we did not pay in full they would drive off with all our belongings and hold them in storage until the bill was paid. I could not bear the thought of my child sleeping on the floor, so we had not choice but to pay. I have kept a copy of our contract with them and a copy of the credit card statement proving we have indeed used this moving company. Every time I have posted a review of our experience with this company, they claim we have never been a customer. I will continue telling this story and providing evidence. Customers have the right to post truthful negative reviews so that other consumers can gather information and make informed decisions. Joe and Alicia ***

At Todds Easy Moves we pride our selves on customer satisfaction. We have been a family owned and operated moving company in the Triad for 34 years. After discovering that the Bill Of Lading was in Joe *** name not the person making the reviews. We investigated. The move was back in November of 2015. When they were first married. The reviews on numerous of different sites was under the wives name. The story changed over seven different times. To answer this complaint. The men were on time to Jonesville NC at 7AM on a dark morning with a long gravel driveway. They had to back the truck down the long gravel country road and hunt for the house. Per our website and all brochures. We ask somebody be out to flag the movers down. On the Bill Of Lading Mr. signed for the tanning bed charge and the time of arrival on the Bill Of Lading prior to the start of the move. Which is on the state NCUC website, attached to our website, on our website, in our brochure, in our mailing that I mail before every move to vertify address. This move was on a Saturday. There was no one in the office to talk to anyone because the office is closed on Saturday. If the driver demanded payment on delivery. This is common practice on any out of town moves. Our policies are consistent and follow the laws set by the state of NC Utitilies Commission.

To any potential customers in need of moving services out there and who actually read these reviews, firstly bravo. You are doing your due diligence as you should to try to avoid bad experiences. Moving is hard enough without trouble from the people you hire to help. As you have no doubt read, the business "Todd's Easy Moves" is disputing basically everything we've shared about our move way back in November of 2015. We have nothing monetarily to gain or lose by writing to the Revdex.com, or posting on YELP details of our experience. Our money is spent. "Todd's" received their payment the day of the move (against the threat of hauling half of our belongings to a warehouse for the rest of the weekend). We are simply trying to share what we went through to help others such as yourself make informed decisions. When we are provided poor service we believe it is our duty within reason to inform others particularly in a line of business that doesn't necessarily rely on repeat business. I wouldn't want my family members falling into an experience like we had. As stated we have nothing to gain from writing this, but the denial of all our complaints doesn't sit well with us and should be your first clue as to what is truthful in this story. Wouldn't a business that prides themselves on customer satisfaction surely have found something they could improve upon from a complaint? In their comments you see no fault or shortcoming of the company employees at all. "The customer is 100% wrong!" seems to be the message. Did you read of any effort on their part to reconcile any differences? Does it seem logical to you that a professional moving business with the technology available today has trouble locating a house that was booked well in advance? Any Google aerial view from the last ten years now will show you the location of the home, the road to it and the huge turn-around in front so you don't back down the driveway. There are many other details I could layout about this experience but to be honest I feel silly for replying now, four years later but this business reply just showed up in my email and basically calls my wife and I liars. Again, we have nothing to gain, but Todd's Easy Moves obviously has motivation to deny all this and to have our YELP review deleted. We fell for the "locally, family owned and operated" line expecting better service and desiring to help out local businesses. Instead we did not receive professional service and the "family business" was more of a negative. One of our "movers" apparently was a child of the owners and seemed to be protected as such. We did indeed talk to one of the owners that Saturday and were told they would haul our belongings off to a warehouse if we refused to pay their estimated amount. Their policies may indeed be consistent, but aren't clarified to the customer before they are committed. They may indeed also follow the laws of the NC Utilities Commission, but there's a lot of difference in merely complying with the letter of the law and providing good customer service. This is the last comment I will make on this incident. If you choose Todd's Easy Moves for your next move I wish you the best of luck. You're likely going to need it.
