This customer came to Llantera El Paisano requesting that we remove a tire from an old rim and switch it to another rimThe customer was
informed that the tire that they wanted mounted on the other rim was defective. They insisted that we switch it and balance it because they would be replacing it in a few days. The tire blew up; it didn’t come off the beadWhen they returned, it was determined that we had only provided a service and we had not sold them the tire. The customer was made aware that we offered no warranty on the tire because we did not sell them the tire. Had we sold them the tire, we would have gladly replaced it. As indicated above, the customer was informed that the tire was defective and it was not caused by our technicianThis is the first time, in nearly five years in business, that someone has come to us with such a claimWe consistently strive to provide quality customer service and advice to our customers

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: the owner is misinformed on a few key pointsThe tire we did in fact purchase a month earlier from this business so according to him should in fact be coveredAlso we initially told the tech and manager that the bubbling on the outer rim was a concern that we expressed yet both owner and tech said it was OK and not an issueThe owner knew about the bubbles because we pointed it out to them before we left the lotWhen the tech took it off the original rim it had 90% tread so prior to this time their was no defects nor wear and tear on the tire whatsoeverNever did we insist on trading rims as he has written in response, we asked if they could/ would swap rims using that tire and they said yes, that it would be no issueLike I stated before in my original complaint this company was asked to switch this tire to a different rim and after they looked it over agreed and gave us a quote, only after we were shown the finished product did we voice our concerns and we're assured it was not an issue or safety hazard did he take our payment and allow us to leave his lot on a defective tireWhen I called the company and told them the tire had blown and I asked them to rectify the situation did they tell me to come in asap and they'd fix the problemThey associate I spoke with knew exactly who I was and put me on hold to talk to the owner so why did they tell me to come in with the wheel if they had zero I mention of replacing the tire? Only when we brought the tire back to the company the fallowing day did the owner inform me that he was not going to be taking any responsibility for it blowingHe said the tire was defective specifically pointing to the bubbles at the rimThe owner and tech knew the previous day that the tire could blow and like I pointed out could have caused a serious issue harming many innocent peopleHaving been in this business for so many years the owner was well aware that us driving on this wheel was going to blow and allowed us with no concern for our safety to drive off his lotNever have I came in contact with a business owner who knowingly put our lives in danger and now is trying to tell a account of events so he won't look badYou can't cover up this incidentRegardless you claim to know us and remember the course of events well as wrong as this man is in his portrayal of events one point he cant deny and has so far as admitted he allowed us to drive away off his lot with a tire that he knew could possibly blow up at any timeThis owner allowed us to drive away with the possibility that we could have an accident hurting ourselves as well as othersHe is mistaken on multiple pointsI feel that he should accept accountability for his actions.Sincerely,*** ***
