The dryer at Tiny Bubbles destroyed my clothes and the owner said there was nothing he could do to help or compensate me in anyway. All the zippers were torn off and clothes streaked black. Everything was melted with circular imprints the same size as the holes in the dryer barrel, but the owner said there was no way to know what had happened and that I couldn't prove that the damage happened there. I suggested he check any one of his video cameras. Without checking the dryer, the owner said it was working perfectly and insisted it would have shut off if anything was wrong. That is not how dryers work. He also argued there was no way to establish the value of the clothing that was ruined. I said we could make a list of the items that were in the dryer and their current condition before I left. Since a number of them had been purchased recently to go on vacation, I could easily provide receipts for at least half of the items. He said that even the new clothes purchased a week ago would have depreciated and would no longer be worth the amount I paid, so there was nothing he could do.Desired SettlementI would like the clothing replaced or to be reimbursed for the clothing that was ruined.Business Response To Whom It May Concern:I am [redacted] owner and operator of Tiny Bubbles Laundromat in Feeding Hills Ma. About a month ago, a young women entered my establishment. She used the dryers and had an unusual experience. She claimed that one of my dryers caused damage to her clothing. The young women claimed that the dryer created black stains on her clothes. She also claimed her clothes had holes and burnt marks. I was notified about her inconvenience and proceeded to access the damage. Once I arrived. I noticed that there were black stains on her clothes. I told the young women that there was nothing I could do to help her because there is no evidence that the dryer caused those black stains. I told her "I do I know if the clothes were stained before you used my equipment". Her response was "I don't wear clothes that are stained". I have never meet this young women before and had no idea what type of clothes she wears. The clothes could have been stained prior to her using the dryer. There was an small indication of marks on her black undergarments, which can be caused by high heat. She dried all of her clothes on high heat, which reaches a temperature of 185 degrees. Those black undergarments should have been dried on a low heat. She proceeded to show me a shirt that had no visible damage but she claimed they were ripped and burnt. She also showed me a zipper on a sweatshirt that she claimed melted in dryer. There was no visible damage. I gave her a refund for her use of the dryer because she was unsatisfied. She told me that "it was not good enough". She wanted to be compensated for the damages and stated "I have receipts for all these clothes here. I bought them a week ago". I told her that "the dryers were working fine and I could not but a value on her clothes". She said "I can". "The clothes cost $300 dollars". She insisted that I give her $300 dollars. I told her I'm sorry for any inconvenience that occurred and I would give her a free wash and dry but she called me a "[redacted]" "a piece of [redacted]" and yelled "I'm going to shut you down". She left the establishment, she returned with her mobile device and began recording me in the store and asking questions about the incident. I told her that recording video in my establishment is prohibited and I'm a private person and do not want a video of myself made public. He continued to video record and stated "O well". After she left again, I decided to wash some white towels and dry them in the same dryer, which she complained about. There were no problems. The towels and no black stains or burnt marks. I even took my own personal clothes and dried them in the same dryer. There were no problems. That dryer has been operational for the last month and that dryer is one of the busier dryers at the Laundromat and I have not received one complaint about that dryer. In the past month she is the only person whose cloths "we're allegedly damaged".
