Tina's Nails

Review: My daughter and I just went to Tina's Nails for their advertised $35 mani-pedi service. We were told to select the nail color from a chain of colors and I asked what the difference was between these gel colors and the OPI colors on the wall. The man proceeded to tell us that it lasts weeks longer and so we selected the colors we wanted and went on with our services. I told the man working on my nails that it was my daughter's birthday and she was treating ME as a thank you for being such a great mom. She was spending $75 of her own money on me for her birthday. When we were finished, we get up to the register and were told that the total came to $150! I said, "Excuse me? The mani-pedi is advertised for $35." The man then told me that the gel costs more and so we ended up paying more than TWICE what we were expecting to pay. I am furious at the fact that nowhere do they have advertised the additional cost, I specifically asked what the difference was and they let us believe that we were getting the $35 service. So now I just spent $75 that I don't have for a service that wasn't even advertised. I was too shocked to argue and I certainly wasn't going to create a scene with my 12 year-old daughter standing next to me. Businesses like these who take advantage of people like me (and my daughter) should not be in business at all.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the difference between the advertised service and what was actually charged. My husband called the salon and they refused to provide a refund.

After speaking with [redacted] from the company on 9/24/13 he stated the advertised price for manicure pedicure is $35.00 for regular colors but the gel prices are additional charges, which is located on the board in the store.
