My husband and I went to Timmins, Jacobsen, and Strawhacker to file our taxes for 2018 tax returns. Our taxes were delayed due to our CPA, *** forgetting to check a box on our return. We received our return in November 2019. We decided to give her a second chance as this would be avoided as we did not need to include this option for 2019 tax year. However, this experience was worst than the previous first year. *** tried to submit our tax return online which was denied multiple times, between April and July 2019, with no explanation through email and phone conversations. Per her request in July 2019, I personally compared all the birth dates and social security numbers to make sure they matched. I contacted her again and said all of this was correct, in which she replied that she was on vacation and would figure it out when she returned. The following day, my husband, ***, went through each page and thoroughly checked each one. He located the mistake that she had switched the birth dates of our two girls. He then contacted the office to speak with another CPA or the supervisor/person in charge above Darlene and instead the receptionist called Darlene on her vacation, which prompted Darlene to call him back leaving him a rude voicemail telling him she was on vacation and she would fix the problem when she got back and we could wait! We continued to follow up and ask for Darlene or a supervisor and were continually sent to voicemail. August 2019, our bill for services started to arrive with a late fee. Our tax return arrived in October 2019. In October 2019, *** went to the office and asked billing if they could adjust the bill due to the length of time it took to file, find the mistake ourselves, and the poor service of Darlene. Their solution was to remove the $4.00 late fee ONLY!

Billing Adjustment We paid the full $300 for services received for the 2018 taxes with the mistake on *** part of "forgetting" to check the box and waiting 7 months for the return. However, we were not offered any adjustments for the second year of mistakes, which again caused our return to be delayed by 6 months. I believe it would be fair to request a 50% reduction in our bill to a maximum $150, along with no late fees due to this being the second year in a row of complications with
