I made a reservation to stay at villa for a 2 week stay but decided to cancel because of the Coronavirus crisis. We were told we would loose our $1280 deposit because it was not within 31 day grace period. I therefor rescheduled for 2021, but there was no effort to refund any of the total of $4278.40 of total charges. I then decided to cancel the reservation as I am well within the grace period which should cost $250 according to the company's literature.
Refund I want a refund of $1280 minus $250 equal to $1030 to settle the account. It is very disturbing that a company would try to take advantage of senior citizens, especially at a time of a national health crisis

Dear Revdex.com,
We value our guests and would like to respond.
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Timberwoods Vacation Villas temporarily expanded our Cancellation Policy for this guest.
Our standard Cancellation Policy states that if cancellations made greater than 31 days prior to arrival, the guest will be subject to a $250.000 USD cancellation fee. This cancellation fee is deducted from the initial 30% deposit and the remaining deposit is refunded. If the guest cancels within 31 days of the arrival date, the 30% deposit will not be refunded. If the guest cancels within one week or less before arrival, the full balance will be charged. There are no refunds for early departures, and the processing fee is non-refundable.
Our Guest called 10 days before his scheduled arrival to cancel his reservation. During this period, under regular circumstances, he would have lost his 30% deposit. In light of the coronavirus situation, Timberwoods offered to postpone his reservation dates for up to one year so that our Guest would not lose his deposit. Our Guest agreed verbally to this on the phone and his reservation was changed to the same dates in 2021.
Our Guest called two days later to request that his new reservation of 2021 be canceled. As it is greater than 31 days from his new 2021 arrival date, his expectation was that he would receive the full refund, minus the $250.00 USD cancellation fee. Timberwood informed the guest that he agreed to a special consideration where Timberwoods would keep his deposit in escrow, providing it be applied on a stay within 1 calendar year. This was the clear condition of him not losing the 30% deposit as detailed in our standard cancellation policy.
We value our Guest and understand the circumstances of today's climate. We made an effort to work with the guest and in no way, shape or form discriminated against him.
On March 9, 2020 the Reservation was cancelled, the amount of $2,995.00 was refunded to the same credit card in file, and forfeited $1,293.40. Please see documentation attached.
Thank you,

Teresa *** may have had a clear idea of what was intended, but I certaintly did not. She made no attempt to return any of the money, so I requested the refund.Business is not going on as usual in these unique and disturbing times. The action of this person and this business smacks of PRICE GOUGING and hopefully will be addressed by appropriate authorities

On March 9, 2020 the Reservation was cancelled, the amount of $2,995.00 was refunded to the same credit card in file, and forfeited $1,293.40. however on March 17 Mr. called the Credit card company and disputed the amount of $1,280.00, we do not intent to contest, so he got the full amount back. Please see documentation attached.
At this point I don't understand why Mr. continue to be unhappy.
Thank you,

Teresa *** is misinformed about a refund from the credit card co. The credit card issued a CONDITIONAL Credit to my account, but there has been no transfer of actual funds to my account as of this time. I have received the $2998.40 to my account, so that part of my complaint is settled. I do not know what the credit card co. will do at this time.
