Good morning [redacted],   I met [redacted] and [redacted] last week on site where work was performed.  First thing I asked was why they were unhappy and why they had not called me to address any concerns they may have had.  They said that a resident called them complaining about weeds...

in flower beds. That prompted [redacted] to visit site and she agreed there were weeds and felt that there should be no weeds in landscape beds for at least 1 year. She said that's why she contacted you to file a complaint.  We were contracted to remove old landscaping, clean out beds, redefine beds, and install new plant material and mulch.  We completed project per the contract. No maintenance was included in contract.  There beds had been neglected (filled with weeds) for many years prior to us performing are work. I have been landscaping for over 27 years had have yet to see or hear of landscape beds where no weeds grow and no maintenance needs to be performed.  Definitely not for one year.  Even though it is not included I agreed to come out at no charge and replace dead plant material (which they have no irrigation and no warranty on) as well as weed all beds and apply a commercial grade weed preventer (weed preventer to be applied will help but stop all weeds from growing). Regular maintenance will be need to keep landscape in proper condition. I only agreed to do this if she contacted you and retracted her bad rating and comments with your organization.  Her claims are completely false and slandering to my company. She mentioned she was going to do this immediately and I agreed that only when bad comments and rating were removed I would come out and do the work.
