A new customer called to request a general price quote for air tickets and hotel in EthiopiaHe wanted to go sometime in June and stay about a weekI told him that I would have to search the time frame he wanted to go in order to find the best price and would get back with himSearching for
the 'lowest fare' can be time consumingSometimes it takes longer than others, particularly, when you do not have exact dates and are checking the whole monthThe next week (May 09,2016) he calls me and wants to know why I hadn't called him backI explained that I was still searching and having a hard time finding a decent economy fare available in the month of JuneHe took this as an affront that I was questioning what he could affordI always try to find the best possible fare for 'all' of my customers and was not even remotely questioning his ability to pay.I am a member of the Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) which warns of scams involving tickets to AfricaMy business practice is to always 'know my customer' that either lives in the area or has a referral or connection with someone that I knowThis is the reason I asked him how he got our number and if someone in the area had referred himI tried to explain that this had nothing to do with him personally, but was my business practice for new clientsHe told me that he would take his business elsewhere, cursed me (***) and hung up.It is my intent of this reply to explain:1) I was following business procedures and policies that apply to all new clients and was in no way intended to be personal.2) I am sorry for the misunderstanding, however, cursing and profanity will never be the start of a good business relationshipTherefore, I respectfully decline to offer any recompense
