Three Creeks Veterinary Clinic Reviews (%countItem)

Went in for my puppy who ate childrens vitamins and the owner who was the vet stated that he did not know if it was poisonous for the dog. He decided he wanted us to pay over $400 to do vomiting, charcoal and to do an radiology on her stomach for who knows what reason. He then stated he could call ASPCA and ask them what to do so I said let's do that to see what they say and wait.on everything else. He called them and they said the dog will be fine. During that time he decided to induce.vomiting when we told.him no and did on his own accord. We brought this up to him and he becomes irate telling us he knew he could just do it. I told him I'll pay for everything else, even the ASPCA call since he doeant know what he is doing but I will not pay for the induced vomiting. He says do what you want I'll send you to.collections and keeps raising his voice acting unprofessional. I then asked him for the corporate number and he said their is none since he owns the franchise and good luck. 5oo bad you still have to.follow guidelines under a franchise agreement. He then goes out and talks about us in front of all the customers and staff. Lastly he said our dog needs a shot for nausea but he refused to.do so and said go somewhere else because he doesnt like getting confronted when he is in the wrong. So I got charged for a service I said no to and got.kicked out and charged.

The puppy was presented with ingestion of a large bottle of children's gummy bear vitamins where the owner was uncertain if the puppy had eaten the large cap to the bottle as well. I suggested scout radiographs of the abdomen to determine whether or not the puppy had ingested the bottle cap as well. The owner recieved a call from her boyfriend who informed her the cap was not eaten so radiographs were not taken. I then induced vomiting with apomorphine. In the mean time I was in contact with ASPCA Poison Control where the doctor agreed that inducing vomiting was the right thing to do. The big question now was whether or not xylitol was an ingredient. If xylitol was present in a small n it can cause liver enzymes to increase and that larger amounts can cause liver failure and need for IV fluids and a need for plasma transfusions. Activated charcoal and intralipid 20 would not be helpful as they will not bind to xylitol. They suggested an injection of Cerinia for helping the gut. The boyfriend did not want to pay for the injection of Apomorphine, which the doctor at the ASPCA Pioson Control agreed that it was the right thing to do. The boyfriend contacted the Revdex.com and they contacted us about the issue and informed us that the owners wanted to be reimbursed for the cost of the injection ($27.93) used to induce vomiting. My decision was that it was not worth the hassle to fight with someone who could not possibly understand, although I tried to explain to him why the injection was given. Therefore, we refunded the money to him. Dr. Z

On August 30th, 2017 I took my dog *** in because she was coughing and sometimes vomiting. They took xrays, quickly determined it was mega esophagus and sent me home with antibiotics and literature. After reading the literature it was clear that the young vet, fresh out of grad school, was not listening to me when I described her symptoms. Dr C, a senior vet, called me on that Saturday and left a message that they wanted to do yet another blood test for myasthenia gravis. I looked up the symptoms for that ailment, none of which *** seemed to have. Dr C called again and I explained my frustration, that I felt that they were not listening to me because none of the symptoms matched what was happening with my dog. She persisted and I told her I was taking *** to another vet, which I did. I called the new vet at 8am, made an appt for 5pm. They called the Pet Companion clinic several times throughout the day trying to get *** records, each time they were told they would be sent right away but were not. I ended up having to pay for another set of xrays because they did not send them in a timely matter. They also misread the xrays they took because *** stomach was actually pushed up into her esophagus by a cancerous tumor. Salmon Creek Companion Clinic did not cost my dog her life, cancer is cancer and poor *** was filled with it. But I did have to pay for another set of xrays due to their incompetence in both reading them and sending them via fax or email to the other vets office.

Three Creeks Veterinary Clinic Response

This was an unfortunate turn out. We did nothing wrong. Typically a request for medical records takes 24 hours or more. But we do try. On 09.14 we received a request for medical records. We faxed these @ 2 pm on the same date. This was 3 hours prior to the consumer's 5 pm appointment. We did get a call back asking for x-rays but this was not part of the original request. We did send them the requested x-rays on the same date @ 5:50 pm. X-rays were not part of the original request. If they are not requested, we do not send them. There was no misdiagnosis. The consumer thought it was allergy related and wanted allergy medication. I don't feel we did anything wrong to warrant offering a refund.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: It was a misdiagnosis, my dog did not have mega-esophagus, she had cancer. I did not ask for allergy meds though I did ask if it could be an allergy, because she did not have the symptoms of mega esophagus according to the literature they sent me home with. When I told them I was going to see another vet, I was told to ask the Vet to call and the records, including the xrays. would be sent right over. They said nothing about giving them 24 hour notice. While it may be their rule, it does little good if they don't share that information. The records sent at 2pm were 2 pages of over 40. It was too big of a file to send over a fax. They were asked repeatedly for them to emailed rather than faxed, each time they said they would do it right away but did not. Same with the xrays, prior to 5pm they said they would send them right over but did not.
