Thomas McKee was hired by me to produce a website for my business. We started getting bad vibes and looked him up and realized he was duplicating other sites and when we told him about our research findings Thomas told my wife and I *** and hung up. We paid $500 ,not only lost that money ,we also are without a website. We filed a dispute with our bank but have not gotten the funds back. He was dishonest from the beginning and took our money. All we want is a refund and we will move forward.
To Whom It May Concern:
On 22, April 2020, *** contacted our company inquiring about designing a new website. His budget was $500.00. We explained to him that a custom website design starts around $1500 which is $800-$1000 less than our competitors. We explained that we have less expensive options that would still result in a great looking, revenue producing website.
One of those options is to purchase a WordPress theme from *** and add his content to the site and the turnaround time is reduced to just ten days. That is the option that was decided upon. *** is confusing ‘duplicate’ sites with a premade theme we purchased. A duplicated site is easily revealed using ***.
Ray’s theme was purchased here: ***
I’m sure we all understand the amount of labor that is required to build a custom website and that this simply cannot be accomplished for $500.00. We have been in business since 1998, starting in Medford, Oregon. We built *** a beautiful website and it can be seen here: ***. He has stated in his Yelp review that we have placed our phone number on the website. He is mistaken, that number is his own and is listed in several locations on the site.
We have added to the value by hosting the website for free for a year ($150 value) and a free SSL ($75 value). We don’t know how we could be fairer. We can’t refund his $500 because we have spent more than that on the labor of his website. The website is currently live and available to anyone on the web.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
We have not had any contact with *** since 4/28/2020 and had no knowledge that there was a completed website or that it has gone live. *** did this without our permission and we would like it removed from the internet immediately. I have attached a picture of what the website looked like with *** phone number on it. We have no rights to the website at all. We are asking for a refund. Thank you
Sincerely
is being dishonest to say that we have not communicated and that he did not know the site was live.
*** has already been refunded. Now, since the site belongs to me, I’ll do with it as I like.
Thank you,
Thomas P. McKee

I am rejecting this response because:
I’ve spoke with my bank and we have not received any refund from this gentleman. He is being dishonest about that and I can prove we have not been refunded. Our dispute is still processing however I have reported to my bank what Mr. McKee has stated to help them finalize our dispute stating he has refunded us when he has not. He is is falsely advertising a website with our information that we have no rights to. We are seeking legal guidance at this time as our information is being advertised without our permission. Thank you
