This company sold me a product and service and it did not live up to what it was used for. This for Icynene application to a room and rats chewed through the entire thing. I was told it was rat proof. it was wrong.
Product_Or_Service: icynene classic
Refund I paid a good amount of money to have this installed i had to pay someone to take the old stuff down and re done the work with another company. $4714.00 is what I paid ThermaSeal

The primary use of Icynene is as an air-barrier insulation product over a conditioned living space. There are 2 general categories of spray foam. One is an open celled 1/2lb product and the second a 2lb closed cell product. The high density closed cell product is slightly more then double the pricing per square foot.
In this instance the customer was utilizing the product for it's intended purpose plus as an apparent barrier to entry of field mice/rodents. The recommendation was closed cell. Both products were and are not a "food source" for animals, insects or mold and fungi, however, Therma Seal nor it's agents or the manufacturer suggested verbally or otherwise the product is a barrier of entry for animals.
There are many standard means to create a fence/wall/barrier to entry other than the use of spray foam yet apparently too costly for this customer to consider.
Keep in mind the application is to a wall system inside a barn to which there is open holes whereby animals the size of raccoons have ingress and egress.
Therma Seal recognizes to the extent the product was applied it has served it's function as an air barrier insulation system. Rodent infestation prevention has not been relayed as a benefit of the system. We feel this prevention should be borne by a barrier before rodent access to insulation.
