I have been working towards writing a book for a very long time. I stumbled into TheBookPatch and realized just how easy their process was to bring my goals to life. Services were top notch! I even called 15 minutes before close one night and I couldn't believe how nice the representative was in explaining the system for me.
I just did another order on my books - I am stoked to have found this business and look forward to using them and recommending them to my colleagues.
I've been working on a multi-award winner, healing exercise program for some time and needed to publish it in book form, as most seniors prefer a good book. So I asked a friend, who had recently written a book with a name brand, on reading their reviews, one comment was that their books fall apart on opening.
Oh no! How terrible, can't have that happening. I want families to give this as a QUALITY GIFT BOOK to their parents, on all occasions.
Did my own net search to find Book Patch, not many reviews but all positive and I thought this person is a writer, someone with a passion for books, not just a print shop. When my first book sample came back, I was more than pleased.
Currently, everyone I talk to about my science exercise program "Movement is Blessed," is fascinated by its health aspect, I explain to them it's available as a book. They still are interested in learning more about the MB program, gentle enough to be used immediately after a heart attack.
BUT when I actually hand them the book to see, there's a long pause of silence. Everyone spends the next few minutes flipping and reading parts of the book. All of them comment on the book, they like the printing, the binding, the color, the paper used, the touch of the book and the ease of opening and using it. The quality of the book takes over the conversation.
Book Patch lets you change the cover and book text as many times as you want. My friend told me they were allowed 3 proofs till the final version. The Book Patch customer service is unlike most help desks. They respond and there is actual assistance to resolving the problem.
This is a detailed review, I don't write reviews but Book Patch has brought me to a point where I felt that I needed to say, "Thanks" and tell others searching for book publish options. My book is a perfect bind, 8.25" x 6" comfortable to hold and easy to flip through.
Anyone thinking of writing a book, try Book Patch, all round good experience.
I have worked with several companies similar to this one to print my books. NEVER have a found a process so simple and service so excellent! I don't have a single complaint and have had several orders of my books shipped. Thanks for setting a new standard for self-published authors.
TheBookPatch provides proper and pretty enough info for authors and buyers. Its a very handy place for fresh books.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I can't say the matter has been resolved, at least not to my satisfaction. I've never dealt with an online company that didn't insure delivery of it's products, nor encountered the smug indifference of their customer service. It's a financial blow to me during this holiday season, but who at the Bookpatch cares.
Regards,
The quality of print is superb @thebookpatch. That is, the paper and ink quality. However, if you are printing books that need to be bound on the right side- find another printer. Their website is misleading as it states that you can bind on the right side - but in truth no such option is available (they admitted this is to me in writing!). My 18 books (total of $125) were printed incorrectly and when asked for a reprint I was declined. After endless amount of emails (since they've now blocked their number due to high volume - highly unprofessional!) my issue was not resolved and was wished " much luck". Many of their staff are incompetent in regards to the actual printing process. I received different opinions from different associates and in the end I was accused of making the mistake! On top of all this, they never called me despite my efforts (they claim if you email them they'll call you...).
Dear Revdex.com;
Thank you for getting back to us regarding the matter at hand. We have sent numerous emails to The Book Patch and finally got this reply which we will cut and paste below:
From: J[redacted] <j[redacted]To: [redacted] <[redacted] Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2015 11:47 AMSubject: RE: Comment from TheBookPatch Web SiteHi [redacted],I am sorry to hear that this error was made by one our employees and I will be working to resolve this for you. Before I start I would like to ask you for all of the titles that have the wrong price and for the correct price. I know you have stated that the titles of the last three orders were incorrect but I want to verify that no other titles have the same issue so we can correct them all at one time. Once I get the list of titles and correct retail prices I will correct your barcodes and then ask you to review them. Once you give me the ok, I will then process a reprint request for orders #[redacted] #[redacted]nd #[redacted] I hope to hear from you soon,JayTheBookPatch support team
We responded in kind with this reply: Dear Sir;[redacted] has already notified The Book Patch that we are no longer choosing to do business with The Book Patch. We have filed a report with the Revdex.com in regards to the problems we have encountered and are awaiting a reply from the Revdex.com. We are not interested in receiving anymore book shipments.Regarding matters of resolution:1.) We are asking for a full refund for order # [redacted] (total price = $252.25) 2.) We are asking for a full refund for 6 barcodes (total price = $150.00)3.) Book printing made simple: [redacted] Print-on-demand company (The Book Patch) has delivered each and every time, on time. Product is high quality and professional. Although I have only experienced one minor issue, it was solved diligently and promptly. The customer service is friendly and knowledgeable about the company's products and services. The Book Patch is the only economical book printer that allows printing of one-off (single copy) perfect bound and spiral books. I recommend this service.
We provide a clear cancellation option on our website and that is orders can be cancelled until midnight the day of the order as we start production on the books after midnight. The customer asked to cancel the order the following day when most of the product was already in...
production. As our system is automated we said that we will make an effort to implement the change and we did so however the automated system overrode the change we attempted to make. The allegation of us not responding or shifting blame is baseless as we attempted to correct the mistake the customer made as soon as we could. It must be remembered that we did not ship to the wrong place or didn't not ship correctly. It is clearly marked on our website that it takes 2-3 business days and the shipping time is also available under shipping options clearly marked. I would like to make the point that books were printed in a timely fashion according to the order and shipped to the correct address on time. In fact they arrived on time as well. We agreed to do things above and beyond what a normal business can be asked to do in order to correct a customer's mistake. We ordered [redacted] to pick up the boxes from Alaska and have them shipped to California as the customer asked for. In fact we prepaid for a pick up that [redacted] attempted three time as the Alaska recipient would attest to and every time at great expense to us there was something wrong that we could not control. The first time the [redacted] would not pick up because it was a [redacted] package. The second time they did not bring the correct label and the third time they brought an empty label and the Alaska recipient did not know what to fill in. As we are making this attempt we were constantly harassed by the customer and we tried very hard to reply politely as we did. We then finally decided that there was no viable solution to this matter in normal channels so I personally called the recipient in Alaska and provided them on good faith my personal credit card number and asked that they contact [redacted] and ship the packages ro California which they did. As for reimbursing the customer for their initial shipping charge our accounting department will issue a refund this week. Even though by correcting the customers mistake we spent over $500 from our own. As the shipment has long arrived in the hands of the customer I'm surprised they did not have a courtesy to notify you that they actually got the books. Thank you If you have any more questions feel free to call me at [redacted] or reach me by email at [redacted]@thebookpatch.com
Allow me to view the facts in this
complaint.
1. We all agree that an order was placed
and a method of shipping was selected from at least seven options available by
the customer.
2. It is a fact that we have printed
the order on time and shipped it to the address the customer provided using the
method of shipping she had selected.
3. We have confirmation from the [redacted]
[redacted] that the package was in fact delivered within the timeframe the post
office promises.
4. It appeared [redacted] had previous
packages sent to the same address stolen by her neighbors according to her and
yet she used the same address again.
5. We make it very clear in on our
website that Media Mail is not guaranteed to arrive.
6. There was a surprise in [redacted]
[redacted] part that even though she selected [redacted] media mail (the lowest priced
shipping option) that we somehow would ship it [redacted].
7. In her response she does not
despite the fact nor bring any new facts to light except claim she is not
satisfied (which is understandable but should be addressing the [redacted]
[redacted] or maligning our reputation by
saying that we are smug because we will not acquiesce to her unreasonable
demands.
All I can say is that to us it feels
as if she is trying to use the Revdex.com to black mail us into complying with an unreasonable
demand.
Respectfully yours
TheBookPatch
The worse publishing company in the whole world. Never ever use this company.
