A subsidiary of Wolff Company, 800 J Lofts in Sacramento, California, attempted to recoup additional rent after I lawfully terminated my lease under SCRA. They did this by initating an eviction action against me knowing I was days away from relocating to Japan where it would have been very difficult for me to represent myself in court. When I pointed out what I believed to be an "oversight" by the company, they maintained their original position that they were entitled to the additional rents. It was only after a rather heated discussion, where I pointed out my perfect payment history, that they withdrew their position and agreed they were not entitled to collect.
