Review: On 2/12/2016 I checked into this hotel. The following morning, the smoke detector in the room went off for no apparent reason for a good 15-20 minutes before hotel staff knocked on our door. I allowed the staff to enter the room, and they removed the smoke detector from the room, and the staff left the room. I then received a phone call to the room from hotel management indicating they would be charging me a smoking fee of $200 due to an odor they smelled in the room upon entering. I advised hotel management that called that no one was smoking in the room, that I had medical marijuana in the room, which was the odor they maybe smelled. Hotel management advised me they do not allow smoking marijuana at the hotel. I advised him that no one was smoking marijuana at the hotel, that is was just the smell of the marijuana, and hotel management proceeded to argue with me that we were smoking which was not true. I hung up the hotel room phone. Afterwards, a member of the hotel showed back up to our room to replace the smoke detector. Upon replacing the smoke detector, it immediately started going off again a second time while the hotel member was still in the room. The hotel member then removed the smoke detector, left the room, and never came back. I then receive another call to the room from hotel management stating a smoke alarm went off again, I explained and told them yet again, no one is smoking, something is wrong with your detector, and hotel management said they understood. Later after checking out of the hotel, I was charged a $200 smoking fee. I called the hotel to again explain the same situation, and they refused to refund me the $200. Bottom line, no one smoked anything in the hotel room, yet they refuse to refund my money, to which I never authorized the charge to begin with. I have since filed a dispute with my bank, and now have to wait up to 120 days for a response, as the hotel is unwilling to resolve this matter.Desired Settlement: I want the hotel to refund my $200, as no one ever smoked anything in the room we stayed in, furthermore, I would like a free room for the inconvenience of hotel staff coming in and out my room over and over due to a faulty smoke detector.
