Arrived at the store to mail a return package to Amazon. Employee refused shipping payment twice, stating that it was pre-paid. After noticing my refund never posted on Amazon after a couple of weeks, I contacted the store. An employee stated that employees "destroyed the package" after failing to obtain my contact information from Amazon. When I asked him why he didn't simply use my return address on the label, he became very rude and stated they couldn't do that (?). After posting a negative review on Google, the store owner (?) contacted me. He stated it was company policy to destroy unclaimed packages after 30 days. I informed him that I contacted the store before 30 days of dropping the package off, and the owner stated his employee must have acted hastily in the owner's absence. I asked the owner why his employees chose to destroy my package instead of using my return address to either mail me a notification or to return my package to me personally, or why the company didn't simply pay for shipping to correct their error themselves. The owner could not provide an explanation. The owner typed a letter for me admitting they destroyed the package for me to send to Amazon. Amazon was unresponsive to my refund request. The company's claim that Amazon advised them to keep or destroy the package does not suffice for the company employee's negligence in refusing my shipping payment. I requested replacement funds for the package 9 days ago via email; however, the owner has since stopped responding to me.
We have reached out to *** for his address and mailed him out a check today. USPS Tracking number ***. The employee who discarded the package has been terminated.
