I needed to contact Mr. Roache's office due to a debt collection notice that was sent to my house regarding HOA fees that hadn't been paid by my ex wife. Unfortunately for me, the information that was given over to his office had my name on it rather than my ex wife's because I had recently refinanced out of her name, and since the HOA company (a whole other negative experience and racket) decided to put my name on the bill (because when they pulled the name from the deed that had JUST been recently refinanced by me) even though I wasn't living at the house at the time, they say I am responsible for the $444 bill (the original bill amount was only $200 due 6/30!!!) $244 in less than 60 days is ludacris! The girl who took my call at the office was "almost" professional and that's a stretch. I explained the situation to her and she said, "That stinks." She then proceeded to state that it was too late and she suggested I contact my ex-wife to get the money, but I now I owe $444. I told her it wasn't my debt and she kept repeating that my information is what they were given. I told her I wanted to dispute the amount as it was not my debt. She said, "Okay I'll notate the account," and started to hang up. I stopped her and asked what the next steps were and she rudely said, "Read the letter!" I told her that I had read the letter and based off that the only thing that would happen was they would "confirm" the debt - which was incorrect in the first place - and we would be right back where we are now. I told her I would go ahead and pay the original amount of $200 to be done with it, but she said it was too late and I couldn't do that anymore. She was just extremely rude and curt the entire time with no desire to help at all in my opinion.
