statement. I have attached an e-mail  communication between Mr. [redacted] and the university. Our Student Business Services sent a billing statement which caused him to inquire about this financial aid after his class had started. While we have counselors that help students with financial aid, the ultimate responsibility of applying for and securing financial aid rests with the student. In this case, Mr. [redacted] completed the wrong forms (future term FAFSA) which resulted in him not being eligible for summer term financial aid. Had Mr. [redacted] contacted our Financial Aid office to check on his status PRIOR to the course starting, he would have been given that information. He also would have been able to drop the course in the first week at no personal cost.Since he withdrew after the refund deadline, he was charged 50% of the cost which is outlined in the hyperlink on the billing statement (Refund Schedule for Withdrawals or Drops). I am supplying you with a succinct response.
