On 2/19/15, Ms [redacted] requested a leave of absence and it was grantedAll hours were stopped and her contract was extended per our policyOn 2/24/15, during her leave her team leader had wrote her up for insufficient progress which resulted in termination in the program because this would have been her 6th write upShe was warned on 12/9/that if she did not complete her failed tests by 12/31/she would be written up for insufficient progress which would be her 6th write up and termination from the programShe failed to retake the tests in December or JanuaryOn March 5, upon her return from her leave of absence, Ms [redacted] was terminated for insufficient progressI explained to Ms [redacted] at that time the process regarding drops and that with financial aid we had days from the last day of attendance to finalize all paperwork and refund any monies to the DOE but we would get started immediatelyMs [redacted] returned to the school on 3/10/at approximately 4:45pm unannounced with no scheduled appointmentI had a scheduled appointment in my office completing their financial aid so I asked the guest service rep to let Ms [redacted] know that I was with someone and that she could wait but if would be approximately an hour before I was availableShe choose to wait and as soon as my scheduled appointment left, I went out in the waiting area immediately to answer her questions and informed her again it could take up to the days before all paperwork was completedAs a school, we are required to follow the Department of Education and our accrediting agency guidelines for all drops/withdrawalsWe have set in place policies in our school catalog and in our enrollment agreement that each student must sign prior to enrolling that we must following per DOE and accrediting guidelines and that is what we have done with this student regarding her dropPer Indiana State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, all fees must be paid in full before the transcript can be releasedAt this time, Ms [redacted] fees are not paid in fullSincerely, Kim [redacted] r, Director of Financial AidThe Salon Professional AcademyS Reed RdKokomo, IN 765-454-9840, Ext *

After numerous attempts to address the student's concerns it was apparent that we were unable to come to a mutually agreeable solutionAfter continued confrontation with students, ownership and staff it was in the schools best interest to cut ties with the student. The schools contract
clearly states the refund policy which was signed by the student when she enrolled. We have released her hours to Missouri State Board of Cosmetology in order for her to finish out her hours at another school After years in business and over graduates we strive to give each individual student the knowledge to achieve their goals and dreams in the beauty industry
