Review: On Thursday, April **, 2015, me and two friends arrived at The Royal at 7:15pm. After being carded by a bouncer we were asked by a woman at the front desk before getting into the bar if we would like to do open bar for $20. That is all that was said and we accepted, paid, and got a wrist band. After a couple drinks each, I went up to the bar and was told by the bartender that the open bar was over. He said it ended at 8pm. My first issue with this bar is that the front of house staff never told us this, otherwise we wouldnt have done it since it is obviously not a great deal. So I believe this was an unfair business practice. When I asked the [redacted] about it, he lied and said the woman did tell us it ended at 8pm and he was also rude and unprofessional, which was unnecessary. I told him I thought it was a scam and still believe so. My second issue in regards to this is that this shady handling made me wonder if this open bar was even legal or if it is in violation of Section 117a of the NY SLA.Desired Settlement: Half the money back for the 3 of us who paid $20, $60 total, so a $30 check seems appropriate. An apology would be nice but it does not seem like there is any management who is accountable at this establishment.
