The Ride

On 1/3/2020 on I purchased a one month membership at "The Ride", a cycle studio in Eastlake for $218.90. I was informed by the owner, ***, that it is easy to cancel the membership, and nothing was required for canceling except to inform her. I did not sign any agreement.

On January 9 2020, I had a very bad experience with *** in her class where I felt my boundaries we not respected and I had to leave the room. She continued to make snide comments about me after I left the room on her microphone to the other students. Outside of the room, I spoke with her business partner, ***, and I said to effectively cancel my membership. She agreed to cancel the membership. I also mentioned my earlier 1/3/2020 payment should be refunded and she said she would look into that. Additionally, on a post-it note, I left a note that said to cancel my membership and signed my name to it, and left it at the front desk after speaking with ***, *** saw me leave the note. I did not take a picture of the post-it as I was anxious to leave and upset with the treatment I received from the business owners.

On Feb 4, 2020, an additional $218.90 was charged to my card. I immediately notified my bank and started the process to dispute the charge. This a fraudulent charge as it is post my 1/9/2020 notice to terminate my membership.
