We are very sorry for the damage caused to our boat during [redacted]s rental on August 7, 2015. We try very hard to explain the potential for damage and ways to avoid it, but unfortunately it does happen from time to time and nobody wins. The renter has to pay for the damage...

and we lose the opportunity to rent the boat while it's being repaired. For this reason, we have the renters sign a damage estimate at the time of check in to apprise them of the damage charges should they occur. In your case, there were 3 areas that sustained damage: The propeller was chipped, the skag was damaged and the latch for the pop up changing station was broken. As per our signed damage estimate disclosure, the charge for a propeller is $350, a skag $385 and the latch was estimated at $12 for a total of $7 4 7. The bill was reduced by $50 for the cost of transporting it 1 x for repairs leaving a balance due of $697.In the interest of customer satisfaction and to mutually resolve the complaint, we have enclosed a check for $350.
