I ordered food to-go at 4:22 PM CST on March 1, 2020. The kitchen and grill is open and visible from the dining room. First I saw the cook chewing food with an open mouth while cooking over the grill. A short time after, I saw him take a drink from an open cup and then return to the grill with no gloves and without washing his hands. After witnessing these events, I addressed the cashier and told him what happened. I also let him know that I did not want to eat there anymore because of this health issue and that I would like a refund. He stated that he could not provide a refund and that there was no manager available. Finally he agreed to call the manager and after the phone call he told me he would not give me the refund and basically forced me to take the food. I tried refusing to take the food but it was made very clear that I would still not recieve a refund even if I did not take the food.

Refund I would like a refund to the card I used for purchase for the full amount I paid of $24.81. As a customer, I had every right to request a refund and not take the food after witnessing the health violation at the restaurant. I should not have been forced to take the food rather than recieve a refund.
Hi ***,
*** came yesterday to the restaurant we gave him the food he wanted, talk to him as well.
I believe we had a good conversation.
We took a note of his complaints and suggestions.
He was satisfied with the restaurant service.
Any questions please let me know.
Take care

I accept the response. The owner of the restaurant met with me and discussed the problems I encountered when I visited this establishment in March. It seems the issues I saw have been addressed since then, and was given a complementary meal for compensation.
