The Peterbuilt Store-DC

I purchased a brand new tri-axle dump truck on 09/28/2018 from The Peterbilt Store- DC addressed at ***, Landover, Maryland *** with a one-year repair guarantee. On 10/31/2018, the check engine light was on thus I went to the nearest Peterbilt dealer service addressed at ***, Clarksburg, NJ ***. I paid USD 225.51 as a repair fee and was told to send the invoice over to the original dealer at The Peterbilt Store - DC to be reimbursed by check.

The Peterbilt Store- DC verbally confirmed they will make the payment. I have sent the invoice copy several times by mail, multiple times by e-mail and numerous follow up calls to request the payment. Each time, they state they will make the payment, however it is yet to be received. It has been more than 8 months that I have been requesting the reimbursement and no action was taken from Peterbilt Store- DC's side. Please see the mentioned invoice attached for reference.

I would like to raise this complaint against The Peterbilt Store-DC in hopes to finally receive my money back.

On June 17, 2017 (with two days remaining on a base warranty), our truck was taken to the (Baltimore) Pete Store for a warning light (1 code 3375). The problem was that the computer had to clean the DPF (“filter”) of soot too frequently. No repairs were done at this time, but the computer was given the latest updates (which did not pertain to the problem). Approximately two weeks later the truck had to be towed to the (Landover) Pete Store and had warning lights on (with three codes 1922, 2639, 1921-all pertaining to the DPF (“filter”) being too clogged with soot. Now the problem is determined to be a major engine problem and is out of warranty at an out-of-pocket cost of $38,000.
We insisted from the start that the truck should be covered under warranty due to the progressive failure of the component and documentation that the “filter” had problems when covered under warranty. We were told by the service advisor that he was “confident” the warranty company “would participate” due to the fact that there was five other trucks in the shop at that time with the same problem. We understood this as meaning that the repair would be covered under warranty. We were never informed of the cost of repairs or that the dealership would charge us double the acceptable warranty dollar amount. Had we known that they would not honor their commitment to the two year warranty, we would not have had them perform the repair.
