Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below In rebuttal to the business owner's response: There is no expiration date on the certificates, so that they are years old should not be an issue The certificates have security microprinting on the border, a [redacted] watermark on them and fluorescent fibers to prevent forgery The business owners reasons for refusing to honor the certificates lame, to say the least I feel his response reveals his character and sheds light on his business ethics Shame on him I will pursue refund from [redacted] , but in reality, this is truly a problem with The Original Pancake House, not [redacted] Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In rebuttal to the business owner's response:
There is no expiration date on the certificates, so that they are 4 years old should not be an issue. The certificates have security microprinting on the border, a [redacted] watermark on them and fluorescent fibers to prevent forgery. The business owners reasons for refusing to honor the certificates lame, to say the least. I feel his response reveals his character and sheds light on his business ethics. Shame on him.
I will pursue refund from [redacted], but in reality, this is truly a problem with The Original Pancake House, not [redacted].

Review: Bought "gift certificates" from [redacted] at a half-off sale in 2010, spent $50 for $100 face value of certificates. No expiration date listed. Gave them to my husband to use when he went to take care of my dad's house (in [redacted]). Husband died last year. Found the certificates in his desk last month. Went for the first time to the restaurant this morning, and was told they are not accepting the gift certificates, they are "too old". Again, there is no expiration date on the certificates. Host took the certificates, said he showed them to the owner and spoke directly to the owner of the restaurant about them, and the owner declined to honor them. Returned them to me. So in good faith I bought the certificates expecting to be able to redeem them for $100 worth of food, and got nothing but embarassed.Desired Settlement: Without a doubt he got money from [redacted] for the certificates. He should refund to me the $100 face value of the certificates (the amount of merchandise I will not be getting), since he won't honor them. I am not interested at this point in ever returning to the restaurant to eat.
