Review: I recently (July 1st, 2015) moved out of the Meadows apartment complex. As of today, it has been 35 calendar days since I have moved out and I have not received either an itemized statement or my security deposit. I have tried to work with their leasing office and have been told several different versions of what is happening to my refund, none of which have been accurate. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the leasing office has been completely incapable of professionalism or efficiency. From the beginning there have been issues with the service that the leasing office is providing. The first week that I moved into the apartment, the roof in my closet collapsed and it flooded my closet (apparently the AC defrosted, collecting water that later broke the ceiling), and it took over 2 months to get the situation mostly fixed. Up until the day that I moved out, the ceiling was not completely redone (the hole was patched but there was not texture) and they never deep cleaned the carpet like they assured me they would. The best part of the entire situation was dealing with the office staff, who do not know what professionalism looks like even when it's staring them in the face. The only reason that I stayed in that apartment complex was the 9 month lease I signed, and now that it is over, I still cannot be completely done with this shady establishment.Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs.Desired Settlement: Even after 35 days from moving out, I still do not have my security deposit returned. I would like the full amount back as they have violated the CA tenant code.

Response:
[redacted] Deposit Disbursement paperwork was mailed to her new address on July 20 2015. I am not sure if maybe she gave us the wrong address but I called my corporate office and was told that it was mailed out on the 20nd. The file was completed on our end on July 17th which is when we sent it to our corporate office. From there our corporate office handles the rest. The check was mailed in the amount of $639.47. [redacted] has called our office at least 3 times asking about the deposit and I told her everything I know and let her know that if she wanted more information she would have to contact our corporate office. I was the one that talked to her every time she called and told her the same thing every time. As for the AC issue we were made aware of the issue with the leaking AC and sent a maintenance tech over to see what was going on. After looking at it they called a vendor out to fix the AC who is more qualified to handle those kind of AC issues. We had the vendor fix the AC and our maintenance then patched the hole for her. We then gave [redacted] a $241 concession for having to deal with the AC trouble. Throughout her time here she was very hostile and not always easy to work with but we did our best to work with her on everything. Unfortunately once we mailed it to the forwarding address that [redacted] provided us with it is out of our hands. We can have our corporate office stop the check and re send a new one but that is about all we can do. We legally have 21 days to complete and mail the file and it was mailed out to her prior to the 21 days.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
