The Locator

Got their number from my plumber who sub's out his need for leak detection to them.

Tech was very nice and professional. Spent less than 10 minutes to detect a leak under my pool deck at the pool filler float switch.

Put his gear back in his truck and handed me a bill for $215.00!!!! I told him I appreciated his services but $215 was outrageous. He asked if I had spoke to his company. I said I did. He asked me if his office mentioned anything about the price for their services. I told him the only conversation I had with his company was to set the appointment. I showed him my cell phone log to verify I had spoke to this company. He asked me again if they didn't mention their fee. I reiterated I only set the appointment.

It's my fault for assuming they would be fair and ethical. I was expecting 10 minutes of their time would of been $85-90. That would be equivalent of $540 an hour...not a bad gig, right? Unfortunately I was handed a bill for $215 - which is the equivalent of $1290.00 an hour!!! That's more than a roomful of Houston divorce lawyers!

I wound up taking a gut buster of a bill and shelled out $185.00 for 10 minutes of the tech's time. It's a great service but it's not brain surgery.

Learn from my mistake because I paid a lot of money for my "lesson". SHOP AROUND!!! There are 100+ plumbers advertising leak detection services within 5 miles of my house. There are a lot more plumbers who would have provided this service for a lot LESS than the "Locators".
