Think twice about leasing an apartment or townhome unit with The Grove at Flagstaff. You will have more headaches then you realize. They are slow to respond to maintenance requests. My daughter reported problems with her washer not spinning and draining the water out, also a/c not working. It took well over a couple of months to resolve these issues. Also, regarding the townhome units, be very careful about re-leasing your individual unit. These leases do not disclose upfront that all roommates must agree to the proposed new tenant. If someone has gripe against another roommate, they can make it difficult for you to have someone take over your portion of the lease. There is also a large re-leasing fee of $500 which you will not know until you actually are ready to re-lease the unit. No where are the re-leasing terms written in the original lease. Also, document via email all commitments made by The Grove. They do not keep to their word. My daughter moved out of her unit at the Townhomes at The Grove at Flagstaff. She gave them written notice, and they did not refund her security deposit within the 14 business day requirement. Her security deposit was mailed out by their corporate office in Texas on the 24th day after her lease was technically taken over by the new tenant. Technically, The Grove is in violation of the landlord/tenant act by not refunding the security deposit in a timely manner. The Grove has people in their office in Flagstaff that may sound nice on the phone, but many times they are unsure of what they're supposed to be doing. College students at [redacted] seem to be at their mercy and they seem to take advantage of these students. As a parent and guarantor of my daughter's lease, I was shocked with the numerous problems that occurred with her townhome unit, the lease takeover, the refund of her security deposit. If I had known the problems that were going to occur, I would not have signed the lease as a guarantor. I would have much rather preferred my daughter to lease from another company. My daughter previously lived at the [redacted] townhomes and did not experience these types of problems like when she lived in the townhome unit at The Grove.
