The Grooming Salon

On January 11, 2020, I took my 2 yr old Cockapoo to The Grooming Salon for wash & trim. The day I dropped off my pet I left specific instructions with the receptionist (Michelle) to have the owner call me if there would be any add’l charges before any service is done. I verified that they had my correct contact number then I left. The reason I did this was because on my prior service December 14, 2019 I was charged an outrageous amount in the tune of $76 roughly due to the fact “ Chance’s hair was very matted & not behaving” per the owner, which I didn’t agree with. I was very upset because I wasn’t notified of any of this until 5:00 when I picked him up. They made no attempt to put me on notice that I will be assessed additional charges so I can decide if I want them to continue the service or not.

Well on the date in question when I picked up Chance, I was assessed another handling fee of $10 as per the owner stating my dog was uncooperative. They had an directive to contact me before continuing any service if there will fees so I can approve or decline. Now, I’m upset rightly so because I had a budget of one price I’m now being told it’s something else after the fact.

To add insult to injury, & having a screaming match in front of customers, the owner called my dog obnoxious & hard to deal with. Now this is a 5 lb. miniature cockapoo, I may be wrong but any animal or person would be hard to deal with if your being unpleasant & potentially, and for her to yell at me that my dog is not pleasant to groom he was probably feeling her resistance to want him & acted on her vibes toward him. Basically, she was saying she didn’t like him. I was embarrassed & highly upset what she had said & her lack of professionalism. For the record, the reason I’m referring to the owner without a name is because she would not provide me her name. I told her I was letting this go I should have just called the police but I figured I would handle it this way. I had to borrow money to pay the bill of $68.90.
