This company scammed me out of almost *** . They advised they could help me get a loan mitigation and lower my payment and save my house. It's fraud
This company contacted me in January of 2020 Advising they could help me get a loan mitigation approved through my mortgage company *** We had gotten behind on our mortgage and Mandi advised they could lower our payments and help us keep our house from foreclosure. They seemed very convincing so after numerous conversations with Mandi at The Defense council I decided to go with them. They advised they are attorneys in loan mitigation. They also advised to not make any mortgage payments while working on my loan mitigation that my payments to them would show the mortgage company we can afford to make payments on our mortgage . I had already submitted loan mitigation paperwork to my mortgage company when we so called hired them. Hilda was the person from *** that worked on my file from day 1. Every time I would speak to her I would ask has she spoken with my attorney? She had no clue what I was talking about as she had never had any contact with them. For the past 5 months now once they were hired finally in February of 2020 I have called sent emails. They did respond to some of my emails I have asked for updates weekly. The few emails I did get from them they would ask for updated bank statements pay check stubs etc. I started growing suspicious when my mortgage company would ask for documents that I had already supplied to Defense council. I would ask my mortgage company didn't my attorney already give you this? I supplied them with all of this already . My mortgage company had not received anything from them. At that point keep in mind they had already gotten from us 3 payments of *** , I started just dealing directly with my mortgage company and getting them all the documents they needed and we were able to work out a loan mitigation. No help to The defense council. The last payment they tried to take out was on a completely different date than the prior ones and it bounced and caused us NSF fees with our bank they did end up reversing that one payment but advised they would t pay any fees that was on us. I was furious and that's when I realized we probably are being scammed. I called Hilda at *** to verify she had never spoken with them nor ever received any documentation from them she advised No! We then stopped any payments with our bank for them to be able to take out any longer. We were suppose to have that last payment . I then sent an email to them advising we had been scammed and they did nothing to help with this loan mitigation. They advised they had called my mortgage company. I found out they had called maybe 4 times in the last 5-6 months asking for updates that's it. They never once supplied any documentation nor spoke with the Hilda handling our loan mitigation . Once I sent the email advising they are frauds and that their business name cannot even be *** or that if you do a reverse on their phone number it's an individual's number. They all use their cell phones as communication which is odd in itself. Rick called me 3 times on a Sunday after I submitted my email that I would be getting an attorney for fraud. I finally spoke with him on Monday July 28th 2020. He first didn't even know my name called me Joy ***. He said he had spoken with me prior but I had never spoken to him. He said he personally had been the one sending my documentation into *** as well as making the calls to them weekly . I verified this was false information. My mortgage company had none of that . Rick advised on Monday they had also spoken with *** and my information wasn't correct . He was like well we got the loan modification approved for you I said no sir I got it approved by supplying everything they needed every week. I asked for my money back I even said hey keep one of the payments for nothing but I want minimum 2 of our payments back in Good faith since you scammed us that's the least you can do. We have been texting back and forth for days and he keeps te
He keeps telling me he is waiting on an answer for a Mr which is the apparent owner of this so called business. As of today no refund . This place needs to be shut down they are scammers and what they are doing is commuting fraud not to mention they now have all of our personal info including SS#s, checking information, address, DL # everything. When you are vulnerable and in thoughts of losing your home you want to believe these people are light and attorneys like they say and they are their to help you. This is not the case they take all your money cause you to get more behind on your mortgage and do nothing but scam you. I am expecting a full refund and this place to be shut down as it's not a legitimate business ASAP! Apparently the Revdex.com knows this as well as it's posted here you even have tried to contact them send letters etc with no response. They also don't even have a business license it appears so how could they be attorneys ? This is against the law and needs to be handled before someone else gets scammed . Myself and the other lady on here are lucky our loan modifications went through thanks to us working with our mortgage company's someone else might not be that lucky and lose their house because they trusted these people! of Virginia help and take down these scammers ASAP! I tried to email the link to the office you have posted on your site but it says it's not valid. I also called the number listed for them you have posted and it will not go through. Please Revdex.com get this place investigated and shut down what they are doing to innocent people is not okay!! I mean if the address is a *** store what does that say?? This has to stop !!!
This matter was resolved last week amicably with the client who said she contacts the Revdex.com directly and advised of the acceptable resolution.
Please note the company The defense council did pay me half of my money back like they advised they would
You has asked me to email that so the case could be closed .
Thank you,
Judy
loan modification for our mortgage deceit
Around August 2019 I received a call from *** home preservation counselor with The Defense Advisory Council Loss Mitigation Specialists stating she was responding to my inquiry about the *** program. She said her company could help me by contacting my mortgage company and possibly get a better interest rate, lower payments, have what we were behind deferred to the end of our mortgage or better yet completely dissolved. She was very convincing. All they needed was *** to get this going and we should have us answers by November. I checked their website and the Revdex.com and couldn't find anything bad so I hired them to do a loan modification & I set up payments for 3 months. We were already behind on our payments but the mortgage company was working with me as long as I didn't miss a payment and tried to pay extra. After I hired them, *** said don't pay any more payments on your mortgage. So I did as I was told. I sent e-mails and called them regularly and everything seemed to be "in the works". After taking my last payment I couldn't get anyone to call me back. Finally in December I reached someone and they told me they had some good news. I was not going to loose my house and my mortgage company agreed to payments of *** a month. They couldn't tell me whether my interest rate was less, whether my back payments were deferred, etc. "***" just kept saying isn't it wonderful your not going to loose your house. I was shocked. I insisted on talking to *** or *** but couldn't get them on the phone. Next day I received a call from a lady from my mortgage company stating that a man had called them and told them that he was my husband and that he didn't care anything about our house and to let it go into foreclosure. She said she knew that sounded odd and thought she'd call me because she knew how hard I was trying to get the payments caught up. She said this was a fraud and I should have contacted them to do a modification. I have tried to e-mail and call the Defense Advisory Council several times. We live paycheck to paycheck and did not have the money to get scammed by them. That *** that they took from us could be going towards my mortgage right now. I need my money back.
I would like for the company to be fair and give me a refund. Contacting my mortgage company and saying that they are my husband and making false claims of how we feel about out property is fraud. All we want is a refund of the money that we gave them
We have been in active and quite positive conversations with the client. She has recognized that we performed under our agreement however in the interest of customer service we are reviewing refund options with her and will issue a full resolution letter when the matter is resolved with mutual agreement between our customer and office.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have been in contact with *** to verify some facts. My mortgage company said they never spoken to anyone from their company to negotiate any loan modification as "***" indicated. No resolution regarding a refund has been presented to me for consideration. However, *** appears to be working on a solution to this matter.
