Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/20) */
regarding the allegations by [redacted] there has been full disclosure of all design proofing & completion/installation fee's since the beginning. the initial discussion of cost was with he husband the day I arrived to measure the vehicle...
for the graphics. at that time I informed him there would be a design fee of $250 as per our normal design estimate process & that the graphics cost would vary depending on the square foot of material required to achieve the logo sizing they are wanting. normally we require an up front deposit of $250 to begin the design work[redacted] once the very first proof was supplied based on the discussions with Mr.[redacted], [redacted] became involved & requested many changes seemed impatient that the process was taking longer than she had anticipated. typical start to finish time line on a job like thus is 2 weeks provided that the client gives clear direction & has a strong concept in mind at the beginning. as the concept was basic I felt it would be a typical timeline however with the continual changes requested & slow response time back & forth through emails the process timeline was lengthened. As [redacted] was never a part of the first meeting with Mr.[redacted] she may have not been aware of the design & proofing fee that was discussed in the meeting. All that we are seeing is payment for the design time & proof work we have already provided.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/05/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
[redacted]
1) I was involved from day one as I was the one that phoned you on April 2nd, 2015 to discuss the work and request a quote. You gave me a total quote of $500 and promised the work would be completed within a week if you could look at the truck.
2) We arranged for you to look at a truck few days after our initial phone conversation. My husband showed you the truck and you took a picture of the passenger side only. This caused a lot of confusion later on and I had to send you the driver's side of the truck. My husband confirmed that no fees or costs were discussed at that time. You were at the shop for only a few minutes.
3) You are [redacted] accusing me of being impatient. You had five weeks to produce a very simple proof for a decal. We gave you an existing logo and all that needed to be done is a resize and overlay of the logo image on top of the truck image you took.
4) My request to move a letter and a digit to the left by one character was ignored twice prompting me to call you and request a simple change for the third time. Each time we had to wait for several days to find out that our changes were not added to the proof. Here is the same excerpt from two different emails that was missed twice:" Could we move the 'y' in Hydrovac to the left of the left rib in the top image? Same thing with the 0 in the phone number, move it to the left of the left rib. Doing so will make the top image similar to the bottom image which we like."
5) You never disclosed a design fee; you also never mentioned anything about a customary deposit. We first heard about that when after five weeks of waiting to see a solid proof we decided to go to a different company.
6) I asked you three times if you would provide a small sample so we can match the colors to our existing logo and you did not respond to any of my emails.
7) Your original quote of $500 was not honored. We added one medium sized logo for the hood and two tiny black labels (other companies do these labels complementary when you place a large order like we did) and you increased the quote to $1325. After talking to other companies we quickly realized that your initial quote was reasonable and $1325 was simply to take advantage of us as you knew that we really needed these decals.
