The Cavalry Firm

So..I get a phone call from a woman stating she as from DV Document company trying to serve documents to my late husband and she has his name. I tell her he is dead. She apologizes and asks me to call this company at 877-217-2649 and tell them because they have "civil lawsuit" pending. I called it and I got a guy who asked for ME, not my husband's name. I did not identify myself when he asked who he was talking to- and he starts telling me about some account for $16000 balance and "because I live in a community property state (Tx) that the bill now falls on me. I kept saying I didn't know what he was talking about and he kept on skirting my requests for information, but he did rattle off my late husband's social security number. Then he started talking about how he was able to pull up an asset list and he proceeded to describe my vehicle description and my horse trailer description and my house. I still did not give him any information, but he was trying hard to get me to confirm for him. Kept saying he had to make sure he was talking to the right person. I told him I didn't know anything about what he was talking about. The aocount he was referring to was 16 years old. But I didn't confirm that either. I finally told him I had nothing else to say, and he said he would just go ahead with the civil lawsuit and I said "SEE YA" and hung up. Later, same day got an alert from Experian that said someone had accessed my credit report and it was this company. They are evidently doing this everywhere. Needless to say, I think I will have to contact my bank immediately to change everything. I didn't give him any numbers but who knows what info he got from that report! So aggravated with Experian who advertises far and wide that they protect your identity and credit information for a price. I gave it one star on the review because they are not even a real company and it won't let me submit my review without clicking on a star.
