The Car Store Reviews (14)

After reviewing the customers account, I found the reason a refund was not due was because she had used both visits, one on 6/13/and the other on 4/5/I spoke to the customers daughter in law, [redacted] , on 11/13/and explain the circumstances to her and why there wasn't a refund dueShe understood and agreed that there may have been some misunderstandingI agreed to refund the requested $to satisfy the customer [redacted]

Good morning [redacted] , I will reply to each concern separatelyThe first one is about the sale price, we did not change the selling price, those were the fees added by the bank in order to purchase [redacted] 's loan, due to his very poor credit score which was a result of [redacted] not paying on his previous loans, and being delinquent on others. When [redacted] bought the [redacted] from us, he was aware that the vehicle was sold AS IS, he was also aware that his deposit was non refundable, it clearly stated that in the paperwork that he signedWith that said, when [redacted] came back after days, not 2, (we never received any phone calls from him as he stated in his complaint), and informed us of the issues that he was having with the vehicle, I told him that the vehicle is still under manufacturer's warranty up to 100,milesThe vehicle had only milesHe came in the evening, so I told him to leave the vehicle with us, and in good faith, was going to help him out by sending it to the [redacted] dealer the next day to get it checked out and fixed for him [redacted] had already made up his mind that he was returning the car, I assumed that he probably was interested in a different car somewhere else, and he already called the bank and told them that he lost his jobSo his loan was rejected by the bank the very next dayAfter trying to explain to [redacted] that he didn't have any reason to return his car, made him aware that he won't be getting his money back due to our business policy, he decided to lock the vehicle that he purchased, leaving it in the middle of the lot, and taking the key with himAfter locking up the dealership, and finding the car there and [redacted] gone, I called him and asked him to bring the key back so we can move the car, he refused and said that he would keep the keys until he gets his money backSo we had to call the [redacted] dealer the next day, to come to our lot and get a new key cut and a remote programmed, which ended up costing us an additional $Therefore, we are unable to refund [redacted] his money, we are sorry that this deal turned out this way, we don't sell lemons, we stand behind our product, and our great ratings are a proof of thatIn fact, [redacted] was referred to us by one of our repeat customersShould you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at ###-###-#### Sincerely, Bobby K [redacted] The Car Store

Case # 11030606 Dear Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois: The Car Store Auto Corp would like to apologize for the delayed response to the Revdex.com request for an answer to the complaint above.  Please add the following email to our communications regarding customer’s complaints: [email protected] so that we may ensure faster response.  Mr. [redacted] made contact with our Sales Manager, Daniel Serna, on December 19, 2015 and on December 26, 2015 submitted an online credit application for the 2007 [redacted] VIN # [redacted].  Daniel arranged a loan for Mr. [redacted] on December 29, 2015 and Mr. [redacted] made an appointment to come and close on the loan on December 30th, 2015, but could not make it to close the loan.  A new appointment was made for December 31st, 2015 in the morning.  On the morning of December 31st, 2015 the customer came to take delivery of the [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] was given the opportunity and was encouraged to test drive the truck and inspect it as it is routinely done by most, if not all of our customers.  Mr. [redacted] declined to drive and or inspect the [redacted] and only opened the driver’s door and proceeded to finish the paperwork for the purchase of the [redacted].  The Car Store Auto Corp performed a safety inspection of the [redacted] Mr. [redacted] bought, however cosmetic rust on the bed of the truck or bottom of doors is not part of such inspection, as it does not pose a safety concern.  During the inspection, our technicians do not remove any truck bed accessories to inspect the bed of the truck for rust.  Mr. [redacted] was owned in Illinois for nearly 10 years where streets are treated with salt during the winter.  Under these Midwest conditions vehicles will normally develop rust and this [redacted] is no exception.  Even though rust was expected, Daniel [redacted] was just as surprised as Mr. [redacted] to learn about the rust holes on the bed of the [redacted].  When Daniel [redacted] was told about the estimate Mr. [redacted] was quoted to repair the bed, Daniel found it excessive and expensive as did Mr. [redacted].  Daniel [redacted] proceeded to recommend a body shop that Mr. [redacted] could take the vehicle to for an estimate at a discounted rate that The Car Store Auto Corp could procure for Mr. [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] agreed to make an appointment with them and requested that Daniel [redacted] forward the body shop’s information to Mr. [redacted] by e-mail.  During that conversation is that Daniel [redacted] explained to the customer that a better alternative to a plastic bed liner would be to do a sprayed in bed liner (Rhino Liner / Line-X Liner) after he got a patch panel installed.  Daniel [redacted] does not represent the body shop and does not dictate how the truck should be repaired, that was for him and the body shop to decide and agree upon.  Daniel [redacted] made no representation as to the [redacted] having no rust under the doors or on the bed of the truck.  The Car Store Auto Corp did not guarantee that the [redacted] would not have rust as it is common for Midwest vehicles to have rust.    Sincerely, Glenda [redacted], Sec.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE.

They are dishonest.

We bought a car from them a WEEK ago; we paid above average Kelly Blue Book value because they told us the car was in "Excellent" condition with no mechanical problems. We believed them.

Today we found out that the car needs a major repair that will cost ONE THIRD of what we paid for it.

When we called to let them know and work something out to arrange for the repair - the car has a "30-day Warranty" (which is completely useless, it turns out) - they were rude and insulting. The Owner told my husband that this is "how American Business works."

In other words: If you are stupid enough to believe these are honest people and you get screwed in the process, that is your fault.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. Tell everyone you know.

Review: I bought the car Match 6, 2014, at the time I was told by the Car Store my car was under warrantee for 60 days or 3,000 miles whichever I hit first. any problem that arises it will be under warrantee and that they would take care of it. Before I even bought it there was a problem with the front fuel pump and that they would take care of it. So I waited and picked up the car. But a day later the car would turn off on me. I went back left the car with them and I was told the rear fuel pump is bad now. They told me I would have to pay $300 since it would be fixed at [redacted] just the like first fuel pump. I still agreed to the offer even though my car is still under warrantee and I have to pay nothing. Weeks have gone by and the Car store has not fixed my car thru [redacted] they keep telling me to leave the my car at their shop which I am not comfortable doing as the first time the car was fixed it came back with missing bolts on the tires. The warrantee will expire very soon and I feel my car should be fixed by the car store. They act very kind until you have bought the vehicle and are very rude and unprofessional as soon as the purchase is made. I was told to "get the [redacted] out" the last time I went to the dealership to ask them about fixing my car. Please help me out, thanks kindly.Desired Settlement: I would like my car to be fixed by [redacted] and not having to drop it off at the car store first. I told them I would meet them at the service center and properly drop off the car and pick up the car from the place it was fixed. I want to bring it to [redacted] have the problem taken care of the way most legit dealerships would handle the situation. Not having them use my car in the process.

Review: When I first walked into the dealership I clearly described they type of vehicle that I was looking for & what I intended to use the truck for. I needed a truck that could easily haul 9 horses as I am nearly disabled & was looking to change professions and get into the hauling business. I was assured by the salesman, finance guy as well as the general manager that the truck they were selling me was perfect for the job. According to them they didn't anticipate me having issues. I guess red flags should have quickly gone up when as we were signing the last paper & were told that there was no warranty on the vehicle & they couldn't even sell me one because of the age & the mileage on the truck. After approaching the general manager regarding the warranty we were sent away with a handshake & reassurance that the vehicle could handle the job. Meanwhile I also asked the gentleman in finance if the engine in this truck was one of those to have known issues in Ford trucks. I had done my homework and was pretty certain I knew for a fact that these were problematic however the guy flat out lied to me & said oh no that's not the case at all. He led me to believe that I was mistaken! If I hadn't let him mislead me I would have walked out the door and been much better off.Not only did they lie about the truck not being able to do the job but I left with it after being told that repairs had been made that weren't. In short, after making only the first payment there are a multitude of mechanical issues with the truck. The biggest of which is the fact that the engine is blown as a result of water getting into the injectors. At this point the vehicle is of no use to me. The repairs needed far exceed the value of the truck. Not only am I making payments on a vehicle that can't be driven but since it's financed I also have to maintain full coverage insurance on it. I think that they knew there were major problems with the truck but just wanted to pawn if off me. They were extremely dishonest!Desired Settlement: I'm not really sure what's even possible. What I'd really like to see happen is them step up and make this right! The truck was a piece of junk and they knew it which is why they would offer no warranty whatsoever. They have taken advantage of me no if ands or buts about it. I would like a fair resolution of some sort. The unfortunate thing is at this point I wouldn't even trust a vehicle that came from their inventory. After making my purchase I've heard too many horror stories.

Review: My contract information about the purchase of my car was giving out by a saleswoman without my consent to a third party that was trying to purchase a car. The individual is not on my paperwork. I've tried several times to talk to a manager but he's not willing to solve the situation effectively. He offered to compensate me by offering me a full tank of gas or have my car detailed but I turned the offer down. This is my personal information and it's illegal to be given out.Desired Settlement: As far as settlement I will accept my vehicle being paid off or best offer.

Review: I purchase a vehicle from the car store on October 17,2013. The Ed finance by American finance. I turned in a copy of my sons Ssi and a pay stub from Asi home health. Which American finance contacted Asi and was told they do not serve out of Delaware. Which at that point in time I had to get up with my aunt who does all the firing and hiring to call American finance. However, American finance did not want to talk to anybody . They said they needed a contract. So I took $400.00 to the car store on November 1,2013 as part of my down payment. So American finance couldn't finalize the deal. So Laura at The car store informed me that my deal was over turn. I was told by a family who said that I shouldn't of exchange any money until everything was finalize. So I was wondering if there was anything that could be done. So that I may get my money back. I didnt even have the vehicle for a month.
