The Ballet Studio

Review: I signed 2 of my children up for a tap class at this local dance studio. When one of my children struggled and began to report disliking and dreading the class I reached out to the teacher/owner to alert her and seek her advice. I emailed her three separate times asking if she could recommend ways we could practice at home, asking if she could talk with my daughter, basically trying to problem-solve so we could increase her comfort with the class. When I did not hear back from her (over a period of several weeks and, again, multiple emails), I asked if we could please have a refund for the remaining classes as my daughter was now refusing to attend class. She finally responded and informed me that I had signed a contract and she would not refund the money. I certainly understand the need for a contract and for a commitment on the part of the family, but I am very concerned that she was unwilling to respond to multiple attempts to seek help on the situation. I believe that there is a role for both the parent and the teacher in this type of situation, and I am very frustrated that she was unwilling to communicate with me but then also unwilling to refund my money when the situation progressed (precisely because of the lack of communication).Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the remaining classes.
