This company installed my roof in Sept 2014 and once a problem is determined, they do not return calls or stand behind their product.
Like I mentioned above, I received my quote and agreed to get my roof fixed in Sept 2014. One thing that I now know I should have done was to be here when the work was completed. I first was not told when they were coming, just got a round about date. Of course, the workers came while I was out of town in NC. I stated I was not home and was told that was ok and that I could pay when I returned. That was a mistake. I'm sure that my issues started long before now. No one is standing outside ever starting at their roof but a little while ago, I just happen to be outside on my back porch watching the rain and I was looking around by my back bedroom window (in the corner, behind a tree) and noticed that water was coming through the roof and soaking in the wood. The next day, I called the Waco office. The customer service rep that answered was not friendly at all. As long as you want a free estimate for them to check a roof to see if it needs replacing, they schedule you and return phone calls. This day, she answered friendly, but when she found out I had an issue with my roof, of course, her tone changed. I told her that I needed someone to come out and look at my roof. After I told her the issue, she wanted to know how long ago the roof was installed and I told her Sept 2014. She then said if it was something that their company did, I would have seen it long before that. I said not if I'm not outside while it is raining and it is in an area that one would not be looking at. I told her I still needed someone to come out and check the problem. She asked if I wanted her to schedule someone to come out and I said yes that it needed to be dealt with. She then said she couldn't schedule it and she would pass the message on and they would call me back. Well, I waited and waited. No one ever called back. I then waited once again. I later called around to several companies to get quotes to see how much damage was done and what the cost out of pocket would be. Then I found out something that I should have already suspected is that they did not install the roof corrected in the first place. I was told by three different companies that the turnback flashing was cut too short on the edges of the roof where the corners meet. Because of this, my roof has been leaking and the wood underneath is dry-rotted and has been all this time. Now, not only does the flashing needs to be extended and corrected but all the wood underneath has to be replaced. When the roofers that I have called for a new estimate walked on the roof they said that it is like a sponge walking on it and should not be like that. I have been told my several companies that if I wanted to pursue it, I have a case to sue because Texas Professionals Exteriors caused all the damage to the roof. I then tried going on their facebook page and posting what my name was, they have my address and information already, and said that I needed someone, particularly a supervisor to call me back to discuss my roof. No one called. I filled out a form on their website also since calling was not helping. No one returned in of my messages or called me about the issue ever. My next step was the Revdex.com. My date of install was 9-25-14 and the field inspector has Mike Ennis on paper. My claim number is PXXXXXX. Total for the roof was $6172.35. My deductible was $1682 and is what I personally paid them. My insurance company, Priority One paid two checks, one for the reg amount minus deductible and then the one for the left over amount, ACV. I find it unacceptable that a company does not even return calls. They say that they stand by their work and in their booklet states, "Our company is dedicated to hard work, excellent service and competitive prices...it is our goal to set the standard for professionalism and superior workmanship." They do not do any of this except maybe have lower prices. They cut corners. Professionalism is not there. TPE's ignores customers when the company knows they've wrong you.
Through *** Roofing, just to get the rooted decking replaced and new turnback flashing installed it will be $850. This does not include the amount to replace the rotted wood on the siding where the water has been running down through all this time. Was told that they only do roofs etc and that after that is done, will need to contact a reg contractor to get that fixed.

Texas Professional Exteriors installed Ms. roof in September 2014. As noted on the attached contract, the roof carried a one-year labor warranty. However, when Ms. called with her issue, we were still willing to go out and look at it to see what the issue was. Texas Professional Exteriors stands behind their work, and even three years after the end of the warranty period, will still inspect their work if a customer feels there is an issue with it. The receptionist did not refuse to schedule a service call, she told Ms. that she would forward the message to the production manager. The production manager returned her call that day (7/9/18) and left a voice mail to schedule to look at the issue. He left two subsequent messages. No calls were returned. In addition, no messages were received through our website or Facebook page from Ms..
Ms. statement that we installed her roof when she was not home has nothing to do with any possible issue, as the homeowner's presence has nothing to do with the installation of a roof. In fact, most people choose to have their roofs installed when they are not at home due to the noise. When a roof is damaged in a storm, it's best to have it fixed as quickly as possible to avoid further damage. However, Ms. could have, at any time, requested that the work not be done until she returned home.
The roof was inspected by the City of Killeen and passed inspection, as noted in the attached statement. Therefor Texas Professionals feels the roof was installed correctly. The fact that another roofer states the flashing was not installed properly does not necessarily mean it was not. In addition, there have been multiple storms over the last four years that could have caused new damage. We are still willing to inspect the roof to see the cause of the leak, but we need Ms. to return our calls to schedule an appointment.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Texas Professional Exteriors is not telling the truth about returning any phone calls. I waited and waited for them to return my call or respond to my facebook message. I am attaching the message that was sent and that you can see that someone from Texas Professional Exteriors read it and did not respond. Like I said, the clerk would not schedule for someone to come out herself but I did state that she said someone would call me back. When I called in the beginning for the company to come give me an estimate, she scheduled that and I did not have to wait for the production manager to call me back to schedule it. Why then when there is an issue can she not schedule for someone to come and look at it? That really makes no sense. There were no call backs from this company or return messages to me from Texas Professional Exteriors. I am not the only customer to have complaints after a roof is installed by them. There have been several that have stated that the company says they stand behind their word and then when you call them with an issue, they do not get back to the customer or say that it is not from them installing the roof. I have had three companies to say that this work was substandard, not just one. Every company that has come out and looked at the roof, took pictures and stood on the roof said that if it was put on correctly, the rain would not have run down like that and it is an installation issue that caused the rain to run down through the seams and get under the shingles. The wood underneath is now dry-rotted from years of water flowing through it and the roof is like a sponge when they walked on it. All they could do is shake their heads and ask who installed it and then said it was not properly installed. They informed me that even though they may have stated that they have a one year warranty that the state of Texas states that all must include a five year warranty. And now Texas Professional is stating that they are more than willing to come out and look at the roof and do the work for me, that will never happen because if they messed it up the first time, why would I pay them money (since they are claiming it is not under warranty) again? I do not trust that the work will be up to standard. I am attaching the screenshot from me supporting that I sent them the message that I said I did and that someone actually saw it. It was sent on July 11th 2018.
At no time has TPE refused to inspect the roof, nor have we stated we would not repair issues that we caused. We cannot state whether this would have been a warranty issue or not until we are permitted to inspect the roof. If the issue is the result of improper installation, TPE will rectify the matter. The customer is certainly welcomed to have anyone she wants repair her roof. However, as in most standard warranties, if the customer has another company perform any work on her roof, any warranty from TPE will immediately become null and void and TPE will no longer be responsible for the roof or any other damage. As to the matter of scheduling, please understand we are talking about two different departments, each of which schedule their own appointments. Whether or not calls were returned can be debated forever, but this does not solve the true issue, which is repairing the roof. As previously stated, the city inspector passed *** roof work that we did, so we feel the other roofing company's allegations are false. However, the customer is welcome to call the office and we will be happy to inspect the roof and rectify any issue that is/was caused by our installation.
Here are only a FEW of the many, many questions I recommend you ask yourself before you consider having TPE do any job for you:
Do I want to work with a firm whose owner harasses me to pay additional monies before the project is complete even though the contract THEY provided broke down the specifics of the payment schedule?
Do I want to work with a firm that uses its own crews to do everything... even though they are jacks-of-all-trades and masters-of-none?
Is it acceptable to me to have texture done where changes are made that is clearly NOT anywhere near a match to the existing texture?
Am I okay with floor tiles next to each other that have a height difference sufficient to catch my shoe and nearly trip me... in multiple locations of the flooring?
How do I feel about a firm where the owner tells me a "suggested" flooring is used ALL of the time but the foreman of my particular job tells me his crew has never installed it before (resulting in several areas that are not properly adhered to the floor)?
Is it okay for the workers to use paper towels in the toilet in the half-bath I had (kindly) advised they were welcome to use but the foreman did not provide toilet paper when he was advised there was none? Fortunately, my plumber is MY plumber and was able to resolve the horrific mess for me.
Why would a professional firm ignore specific installation instructions from the manufacturer creating a need to open up a wall to redo it correctly... after over two weeks of pleas to have it done?
Quite honestly, I could go on and on. There are so many things that were simply done haphazardly. I'm not certain some of the things they did were okay for a non-licensed person to do (electrical, plumbing...). I know they did not bring in any true professionals on any of the work until I insisted my plumber become involved.
I made multiple trips over during the work and discovered the lack of ability of this firm to do exceptional work. In fact, a large amount of it is only accepted as I do not want to have to deal with this firm ever again. I will either live with the poorly done items or I will pay someone else to do them correctly.
One star is one too many... but I can't provide a "0" star rating.
Company installed a new roof and skylight in Spring of 2016. In 2017, when it rains, the skylight leaks and has now damaged the living room ceiling
In the spring of 2016, after the hail storms in Plano, we contacted the company to replace the damaged roof, skylight, gutters and apply Kiltz and paint to the ceiling in 2 rooms where there had been water damage. The issues we have had, one of the contractors put his foot through the ceiling drywall and created a hole in the ceiling, then we had an issue with the skylight, we thought that it might be too small for the opening but were told it would be fine as they had put a larger gasket, they had left several glue spots on the new skylight, the vent pipes were not painted and were not installed straight, and last thing the gutters had not been installed. We contacted the company and emailed pictures of the issues. Monthly we would check if these issues had been fixed, before paying the last 1/2 of the bill. On one of the inspections we noticed that the gutters had not been installed. After several calls, we were told that they would not install the gutters because they could not find anyone to install the gutters. They did credit us for that. Finally, after the finally inspection, we paid the last half in November of 2016, not knowing we would have an issue with the skylight until it rained this year and we now have a leaky skylight when it rains heavily and a stained ceiling in the living room. The leaky skylight and ceiling will now need to be repaired or replaced.
Replacement the skylight with the one that fits the opening. Repair and repaint the ceiling
After five months of phone calls, sending certified letters and emails to obtain payment for the work that we did (most without any response), we finally received a response from the customer that his skylight was cracked and he wasn't paying until we checked it out. We checked the skylight, cleaned it, and found no issues. The customer called again and insisted it was cracked. We took pictures and videos of the skylight to show the customer that there were no cracks in the skylight (picture attached.) Months later, the customer contacted us that the skylight was leaking. Even though the skylight was no longer under warranty, we were still willing to look at it and fix it if needed. We placed numerous calls to set up a time to come out and do it, and he never answered nor called us back. Two months later he called to tell us he was out of the country for two months and just got our message. We attempted to meet with him again to fix the skylight, but he was only "in town" for one day to meet with us then was leaving again. We tried to meet with him on that day, and when we got out there he was not home. We tried to contact him and again received no response. We are more than willing to take a look at the skylight, even though it is way out of warranty, but we cannot do anything if the customer is unreachable and does not return calls or respond to letters.
