I have had serious issues with my vehicle since new. Some corrected and the rest ignored.
Purchased new truck Sept 2015. First month had to return for major oil leaks. The one leak was fixed and the other not.. I told them there was another leak but they convinced me it was just sweat. Unknown to me my block heater shorted out the first winter. It worked twice and tripped the breaker. I then thought it was just coincidence because how could a brand new block heater fail. So busy with work, I would always plug it in at night and the breaker never did trip again. Spring of 2016, I noticed something odd. The engine would smoke on start up . This concerned me . One day driving home from work, my engine began to shutter and power down and I noticed a huge haze of smoke out the back. Next day I had it towed to Royal ford. They told me they couldn't make the engine do that again nor could they understand it. It cleared itself out. Then they wanted me to pay half the tow bill. I refused. Keep in mind I had full warranty yet.
Winter of 2017 comes and I noticed my truck appeared stiff starting but always started. So I decided to quickly step in to Royal and have someone check the cord end. Whoever the fella was, tested the plug in and said plug in was good. In a hurry to get to work , I left. As time and miles went by, my warranty expired. Then I received a recall notice in the mail on block heater cord. I was so relieved thinking this was the problem all along. I booked appointment for recall block heater cord. The mechanic installed it and block heater failed to work. I then said I told them long before warranty expired I felt there was something wrong. But total refusal to change block heater. No warranty. ***. They felt the best solution was simply trade for another new truck and just so easily pull 20000 out of my pocket trade in difference. I work hard. I have other debts. I am not a wealthy man. Trading is not the answer. My payments are 650/ mon. I can't back out. I have been forced to accept that this is the way it is and they will not change it. I received a performance review questionair by email and I answered back honestly. This prompted a reaction by phone from Royal. One of Terry's employees called me middle of my work wanting to discuss? There was nothing left to discuss and I refused to retract . He wanted to talk but I was working so we both agreed he would call me exactly 9 am the following Saturday. He never called!! A week later he tries calling me again at work. I refuse his calls. No more talking!! So here's my conclusive statement. I have been tolerant of all these problems. I am a kind and generous man. I don't like getting angry but they pushed me too far. I am still driving my truck. It continues to smoke on start up. It continues to leak oil. I have no block heater. I cannot afford a trade in. ***. Every time I had gone in to his business, always new employees. More frustrating explaining over and over.
I am not the problem here. Royal Ford is. I have tried to get answers from ford canada. They told me it's up to Royal to fix this issue. Thank you. Sincerely.
First and foremost I want a new block heater installed along with new antifreeze. This is not a costly thing. I don't feel Royal has the technicians capable of repairing my oil leak or correcting the smoke issue. I told service it's all on the net. It's ignored. I'll just accept that this is exactly how it has to be.
