Review: [redacted] prepared my 2011 estimated PA taxes, January 2012. She was paid 150.00 for this service. [redacted] prepared my 2011 federal, VA and PA taxes, March 2012. She was paid 300.00 for this service. Virginia audited these tax preparations in August 2014. I contacted [redacted] to review and send requested documentation for VA audit. The audit found that I owed $5895.35 and an additional $653.02 in accrued interest by October 2014. I was told by [redacted] that I did not owe this and she would look into the matter. Later, she notified me that I did owe this money. I paid the tax and interest and communicated my dissatisfaction at owing for interest caused by her mistake. Her email response: (October 12, 2014) It is our long-standing policy to pay penalty and interest up to the cost of the return. In your case you paid a total $450. However, I will include an additional $185.00 so to cover the total penalty and interest, [redacted]. A copy of the bill was sent to [redacted] and she responded to send the refund the following week. I emailed her December 19, 2014 without response. I emailed her December 28 2014 and received: Received your message and I will take care of it. (January 3, 2015) I emailed her February 3, 2015 without response. On February 18, 2015, I emailed [redacted] requesting my refund with a copy of her email promising payment. It included my current address, cell number, two emails and total amount owed of $635.00. It also included a due date by March 1, 2105 or possible legal action would be taken as well as more frequent reminders. She responded with an immediate heated one sided phone conversation and an email. I waited until May 7, 2015 to email politely stating it had been 3 additional months and since tax season was over, to please send my refund. Nothing has been done since. I have been calm and polite the entire process. It has been just under 8 months without payment.Desired Settlement: I only want the $635.00 that she promised in writing, to send to me 8 months ago.
