I was in desperate need of a vehicle and tennmotors took advantage of me and sold me a $20,000 truck that turned out to be a lemon. Three days after I bought the vehicle the check engine light came on with a Cadillac converter code. It needed replaced. There was also only 2 bolts holding the transmission on to the truck, the other 2 bolts were halfway in and cross threaded.
I drove 46 miles back to Johnson city and they had it replaced. I told them I wanted to bring the truck back but they insisted that they'd fix the issue. A week later I met a salesman half way to get my truck. (About an additional 70 mile all together) though the throttle response still had an unsafe 3 second delay. They couldn't give me a date on when the last time they had an oil change so I had that done immediately. The same day (2 weeks of having the truck) into it into American tire and battery to have a clicking and grinding sound coming from the rear left wheel. Prior to this o talked to the manager *** to see if he would handle the problem and he told me to go ahead and get it checked out and call him after they diagnosed it. Turns out that they didn't hook up the boost intake on the motor after they replaced the the Cadillac converter and the wheel problem was a faulty parking brake pin. I called *** and he said oh well you're going to have to take that up with URL,he said I'm not sure if they cover stuff like that but its worth a try. So after he baited me and gave me the green light to have the shop fix these issues I had to pay out of pocket $140 and $70 that day for parts labor and an oil change. All minding that the truck had a bumping noise and popping when you stop and go that I didn't notice until the technician at ATB pointed it out to me same day when we went on a test drive to see if the disconnect hoses fixed the throttle response. (It didn't) I called the ford dealership same day to make an appointment to have this fixed because I had a few days left while the truck was under 30 day warranty. Page1

Refund Page 2 the truck was 60 miles over warranty and they wont cover the $2000 to replace wore out timing belt and rear end needed lubrication, a 12 hour job. $2000. I paid 20,000 for this truck and it's been nothing but problems and I want tennmotors to give me a refund or fix the issue that the truck had before I bought it that I was unaware of. As of today I have had this vehicle 27 days. The technician at the ford dealership said that these issues happen over time with poor maintenance, not a month
We regret you do not feel you were not treated properly. I spoke with the Ford store you took it to and they said that the timing chain was showing signs of wear might need to be replaced but it is hard to replace something that has not broken. Your 30 day/1000 warranty expired before you decided to take it to the Ford store. I feel it is unfair to blame that on us. We delivered your vehicle to you at no charge. We replaced your catalytic converter at our expense once we were made aware of it. We try to make our customers happy by treating them the way we want to be treated. From talking to you I feel that you regretted purchasing the vehicle because the payment was higher than you like. All we did was provide a Bill of Sale and then your bank sent us the check we had nothing to do with your monthly so they you took it out on us and attempted to find everything and anything wrong with it that you could to get out of it. We sold you a good truck at a good price and we are going to stand behind that. Timing chain does not need replacement its just recommended. With 139k miles everything is recommended. I hope the truck gives you many years of service. We did everything you wanted but at some point we have to say no.
Dear Sirs:
I am responding to the response by Tenn Motors. The Ford Dealership are precisely the people
who stated that if the timing belt was not changed immediately many more costly repairs
would ensue. They said Tenn Motors should have known. Also, the fact that the catalytic
converter had to be changed right after purchase is another thing that shows that the vehicle
was not properly maintained.
To bring up that you 'feel' I regretted the purchase due to cost is ridiculous, people negotiate
the best price and yes it is utterly ridiculous to purchase a 20 thousand dollar vehicle and have
to make immediate repairs like a catalytic converter then another 2000.00 plus on a timing
chain.
You DID know the timing chain was needing replaced, you DID know the catalytic converter was
needing replaced. And you know that you know! I believe Tenn Motors should reimburse me
the cost of the Timing Chain at $2000.00. I stand behind this and so does any mechanic of
vehicles.
Sincerely
